I'm sure everyone's lo gets sweaty in their carseats. Any ideas to make it more comfortable for them? Good covers, ..... I just feel so bad for her plus I'm sure it may make her more likely to catch a cold. Thanks, michelle

Sorry, we don't even have the sweating factor here. Not hot enough yet. I think dressing your lo as lightly as possible would help alot & keep air flow in the car going. Maybe using a light (to repel the sun's rays) coloured fabric cover.

Oh what about getting one of those mini portable fans that clip onto anything. That would be good...just don't have it blowing directly in her face.

DDT,thanks for your ideas. I think that the problem is that the fabric isn't very breathable, so when I take her out of it her entire back, and head is covered with sweat! It's a graco seat. I guess I'm looking for any good, tried seat covers or new seat reccos with friendlier fabric. Even in the cold winter months this happened, and I hare to see how bad it will be this summer.

We have the same problem with our son. He will be 10 months on the 17th. On hot days I have cool the car before we get in. I make sure the vent is pointed on him. We have a Honda mini van, so he has his own vent. Dress her lightly and leave her hat and socks off in the car.

mjv, today when we went on some errands I took her socks off and made sure the hat was off. I also put a hand towel--placed it between her and the carseat fabric. It seemed to make a good difference. The hand towel makes it a bit tricky to have the seat harness on correctly, but with adjusting accordingly, the towel helped out too. One of our cars has vents in the back seat but can't point it to her, it's in the center area, I made sure it was on and pointed up though. My usual car doesn't have that option at all, unfortunately. Thanks for the tips!
