When I went for my scan, the tech was very non-commital, and said, "I think it's a girl. Hmmm...it looks like a girl." I'm like, "You THINK it's a girl?!", "I need to know for sure!" Anyway, I spent the rest of the pregnancy, telling everyone it was a girl but with serious doubts in the back of my mind, and increasingly worried about the amount of pink things people were buying for me. It turned out I needn't have worried, because I now have a beautiful daughter, but it's true they can never be 100% sure of the sex. |

When I had my first daughter, I had an ultrasound at 32 weeks and they printed out a very clear picture of her labia. When I had my second, the doctor I was using then did the ultrasounds himself, and we didn't get such clear pictures, but he was right that we were having another girl. |

i think it often depends on your baby's sex...i think boy is probably the most easiest of course because you can see it, my son was playing with himself (no lie!) when they were trying to see what he was and they were like yup thats a boy! ... |

YEP. I WAS TOLD I WAS HAVING A GIRL UNTIL I WAS 38 WEEKS. TURNS OUT THAT UMBILICLE CORD WAS A BIT MORE! |

A freind of mine had an ultrasound at 17 weeks, which is still pretty early to determine sex in some cases, anyway they said it was a girl, but it turned out to be a boy, the penis jsut wasn't fully developed at the time. The accuracy depends at what week you ahev your ultrasound, the later, the more accurate, If they say it is a boy, then it is 99% because they can only say boy if there is a penis, however most mistakes occure in that they don't see the penis and say its a girl, thats the only time to be doubtfull... |

For those of you that were told that you were having a girl did you see the three white lines that they talk about |

I had an ultrasound at 13 weeks-of course too early to tell, but there were no boy parts yet. I then had one at 20 weeks and they said it was a girl most likely (I already knew I was having a girl though, just intuition), I then had one at 28 weeks-for sure girl, and of course I had one right before I was induced for low fluid. The funny thing is though, when she was born-they kept calling her a "HE" and I was freaking out! She had problems breathing so they took her away and I didn't really get to see/hold her right after. I was so scared that I had all pink stuff for a baby boy! |

oh yeah we can be wrong, i'm an ultrasound tech and sometimes i have doubts. it all depends on the position of the baby, and if she/he spreads the legs so we can take a good look. |
