does anyone know of anyways besides baby prilosec and baby jarro dophilous to help??? my son has awful GERD, to where he was actually mistaken for haveing colic, sometimes he is completely inconsolable. anyone with advice please share :)

We used prevacid on our daughter after prilosec did nothing. That seemed to work for her pain, but spit up actually increased. At six months we stopped cold turkey and she was fine. Prevacid is usually the wonder drug for babies with gerd. It comes in a solutab. IIRC we were using half a tab twice a day.

We give our son zantac...don't know if that is the same as the other meds. But it's really helped. He doesn't spit up as much, and he doesn't have the choking, coughing that he used to. He's 4 months now, and we plan to stop at 6 mos. too. Good luck.

Our pedi gave us Zantac as well. We had to put a bit of rice cereal in the bottle as well (1 tbsp/6oz formula) and the biggest help was keeping her upright after feeds. It will get better when you introduce solids. I also stopped the meds at 6 months and she was fine.
