I've been thinking about this for a while and just never asked. My son was born 3.5 weeks early, so he was born at 36.5 weeks. Should I be using an adjusted age for him, since he was early? I know 37 weeks is full term, and he was so close that I never relaly thought about it... Thanks.

Hi Kimmer, Makayla was born at 36w6d, and I'd asked her pediatrician about this exact thing. He said that babies born that close to term (37 weeks) don't have their ages adjusted. I know from your other post, you were a bit concerned about Brady not yet sitting up on his own, so I'm not sure if this is why you're asking about age adjustment. Anyway, I hope this helps!

I was more just asking out of curiosity. I never asked my pedi about it. I'm not really too worried about my little guy...he'll do things at his pace :) It's just hard watching his cousin that is 5 days younger, sit unsupported, stand constantly, pull-up on things, and "walk" while you hold his hands...

Hi girls- Both of my lo's were preemies (36 weeks and 33 weeks) and I always use the adjusted age in regards to development, eating, etc.
