He Won't Sleep At Night

Sounds like he has his days and nights mixed up. Have you tried keeping the room he's in during the day relatively noisy and bright? I don't mean annoyingly noisy, just enough to let him know that it's day time, and not sleepy time. Try to keep him up for a little while each day - hard with a newborn, I know. Then at night, make sure the room is dark and quiet. Have his night feedings be very quiet, don't talk to him too much, that kind of thing. Most babies will eventually figure out the difference between night and day pretty quickly. Good luck!! |

You may want to put the radio in his room on static (at night) ....that worked great on Jesse in his first weeks. He had to have sound to sleep and the static reminds them when they were in the womb!!! Thats also probably one of the reasons he sleeps good during the day....b/c of noises. |

I had the same problem with my son when he was a newborn....the doctor told me to keep him in a bright room during the day and not to let him sleep for longer than 4 hours at a time during the day. Then at night when you have to feed and change his diaper keep it as dark as possible. Swaddling did wonders with my son...I bought the miracle blanket and it was great. But dont worry most of us have to go through all of this at the beginning ....I promise it does get better. |
