Hi ladies, how long do you swaddle your baby? My baby is almost 3 months now and I swaddle him at night when he sleeps. I'm thinking to stop swaddle him but concerned he won't be sleeping as soundly as when he's bundled up. (he can sleep for about 6 hrs at one strech during the night) So, I would like to know how long do you swaddle your baby?

I kept swaddling my baby until he started to unravel the blanket! I think it was about 3 months.

Zack is 7 months now and he's half swaddled from underarms down. So, as long as it helps him sleep better, I'm swaddling away.

My dd stopped when she was 4 wks. and my ds stopped when he was about 6wks. If your baby is happy being swaddled keep doing it. My son still sleeps from about 7 or 8 until 5 or 6 am.

My dd started "breaking free" from the swaddle at about 2 months. She got hot very easily, so I was planning on stopping sometime soon anyway, but she showed me she didn't want o be swaddled anymore.

I stopped swaddling my dd when she was about 3 months. We got her a blanket sleeper. She's now 7 months, on blanket sleeper #3 and loving it!

We've tried to stop swaddling our 6 month old but she wakes up all the time if we don't. It's a looser swaddle but she needs it or else she rubs her face and wakes up. I'm hoping to break her of i but don't know how...maybe it deosn't matter...

I swaddled until 3 months. It was the only way she would sleep at night in those days. She used to keep moving her arms around in her sleep, which woke her up, so swaddling was the answer. After 3 months she had a bit more control though and learned to do without. **Sigh!** I suddenly feel nostalgic. :o(

I swaddled my son until he was about 6 months old. He wouldn't sleep without it and I felt as thought I would be swaddling him until college. One night I left him unswaddled and he fussed around for about 45 mins before falling asleep. then the next night it was less and the next night less and he actually started to sleep better because he was free to move around and go on his tummy or side during the night...just like we move around to make ourselves more comfy during the nite.

Sarah is 4 months and is still swaddled. I have never left her arms in though, she hates that. She sleeps a lot better swaddled then not.

Serenity started kicking out of her swaddle at about a month old...I still wrap her loosely in a blanket while she falls asleep, and then leave the blanket over her when I lay her down.

Thank you all, ladies! My baby could not sleep soundly unless his arms and legs are swaddled unless he would just keep wiggling and wakes himself up. It's nice to know there are other babies being swaddled beyond 3 months.
