I know this sounds like a dumb question but I ve never really had to make formula before. My baby is normally breastfed until recently. I use Enfamil Next Step Lipil and the instruction says I should use 2 oz of water for every 1 scoop. So when I make 6 oz I poured 3 scoops of formula. The things is how come after I mixed it the formula becoming more than 6 oz, it became around 6.5 oz. Does it mean my baby drinks 6.5 oz?? I don't get it, am I doing the right thing??

It's not a stupid question, I had the same question when I first started using formula. The way that I understand it is that it is still 6 oz. But how I make sure (this was a suggestion from other moms here), I premix it in a large rubbermaid container then make bottles with it. I usually make 48 oz at a time, but you can make as little or as much as you want.

When I am at home I premix adn fridge as well. Mainly because it gets so foamy with air bubbles and gives him gas. The only time I stir on demand is when we are out.

The way you are doing it is exactly right.
You always put the water in first then the formula.....of course it will go up since you are adding.
If it goes to 6.5oz and your baby drinks it all, it is counted as 6.5oz :)
