Hi ladies. My dd is 11 months and I know that soon she shouldn't be using a bottle anymore. It is just soo convenient before naps and bedtime though! It always soothes her and she knows that it is time to sleep after her bottle is finished. When did you wean your lo off of the bottle and how did you do it?

haha... Hi S. I am wondering the same thing. I haven't been on here in forever and thought I'd see what was new. I'm starting to think about the weaning. It's sleeptime (at night) that will be the hard time for Sam.

I am wondering the same thing. My son will be 1 on the 22nd of this month and is still on bottles of formula. I never had to deal with this with my 1st baby, as she was breastfed and naturally weaned around 12 months old. I have been offering him milk at meals this past week, but he does not seem to like the taste. Just today I decided that I am going to decrease his number of total ounces of sleeptime bottles (naps, bedtime) to try to get him to eat more table food. I also mixed in a bit of cow's milk to the formula to get him gradually used to the taste.

My ds is just over 13 months and he is down to a morning and evening bottle. I replaced his other two bottles during the day with a snack and he has adjusted well. I am not sure what to do about the other two though. I think he would be fine without the bedime one as we give him another snack before he goes to bed but the morning bottle is gonna be hard. He ususally wakes at 5 or 6 for a bottle and then goes back to sleep until 8 or 8:30. I don't want to get him up at 5 and feed him a meal. That is just way too early!!! I am just gonna go with it for now. My older ds was on the bottle until he was about 2. He "needed" it to go to sleep.

Nerdy Girl, that's what Mason's GI doc just told us to do. He is still 2 1/2 months away but we wont see her till then. She told me to mix half formula and milk to get him used to it. And then to start replacing bottles one at a time with sippy cups. She said from now until past age 1 he should be getting 16-24 oz of formula/milk which takes a little rpessure off me when he doesnt want to drink much. He is picky about sippy cups at this point and only wants water in them

Thanks for the comments, girls. I think the morning bottle will be hardest too. My dd gets up around 5-6 for a few oz and then will go back to sleep till 7 or so. I have a feeling that though I will be able to get her off of the bottle for all other times, I will probably cheat and keep using the bottle for those early morning hours. I don't want to get up at 5, like Sonya said!
