Blood Spotting During 38th Week

I am into my 39th week, 38 weeks 2 days. I felt blood spotting on the toilet paper when I wiped up earlier today. Is that a normal thing or should I be alarmed with that? I have my weekly checkup ealrier today with my doctor and she found it to be all normal. Doctor told me that I am 2-3 cm dilated already and said that I have a head start.
