Numbing The Perenium (sp?)

Can the doctors do something to partially numb the perenium while you are pushing the baby out? Like give me a shot there or something? I am not taking the epidural as it is not offered at the hospital where I am having my baby.

Yes there is. It's the same shot you would have if they were doing a perineal repair after birth. Talk to your doctor about it. However, if you are doing the rest natural...numbing the perineum won't be that necessary
