Sick During Labor?

Has anyone felt like they were going to hurl during labor?

haha i threw up ALL over my husband when I was pushing..

I was sick both times. It's common, which is why they only want you to suck on ice or have clear liquids. You're not supposed to eat while in labor, at least they won't let you in the hospital.

I haven't had a baby yet, but from what I gather from friends it is really common to barf. I just expect I will. There are worse things. I am planning to eat (light foods like jello) if I feel like it. I think it would be better for me, even if I barf a little.

yes and i did right before i pushed my daughter out in Aprili of 2004

yes, it's pretty common to vomit during labor. I didn't eat anything at all and I still did it. No big deal.

I threw up the whole time!

I actually did throw up right before i pushed my daughter out heh.

I vomited only when I was being examined internally with my first to check how dialated I was, while she was actually doing it - not at ay other time in three labours...pain was horrible!

I hurled several times as well. Embarrassing but you move on. Luckily this doesn't phase the nurses any. ;)

I really thought I was going to be sick... but when they gave me that little tiny try to barf in.. I knew that wouldnt work, some how I got through it and didnt get sick.

I got nauseated extremely bad from the pain medication.
