I'm 32 weeks and I'm going to take castor oil to induce my labor whats does my odds look like

miranda - August 27th, 2005 12:48 PM

Toni - I think you are supposed to drink 3 cups a day after 37 weeks.

marion - August 27th, 2005 4:48 PM

tiffany
DONT TRY TO INDUCE LABOR AT 32 WEEKS!!!!!!!!This is dangeruse and bad for baby if he is born to early and at 32 weeks the baby is not devoloped enough,This could couse complications for the baby and long term efects on it like blindnes learning and behaveoral problems not only that but it may mean along stay in nicu for your baby.Worse case is death. so if you want the baby born that bad you should wait till at least 36 weeks before trying for your babys sake. But drinking the rasbarry tea will probly do nothing but it is good to start drinking it after 34 weeks at 2 cups a day.

I am 35 weeks pregnant, almost 36, and just started drinking the red raspberry leaf tea. I have had contractions before this, but they have been irregular and not too painful, but I have also been in pre-term labor 6 times. I am already dialated 1 cm from the pre-term labor. The tea has made my contractions stronger over the past couple days, but I know for a fact that SEX is what sets me into labor. Everytime I have sex, I go into labor right away, but I think it only works if your partner doesnt use a condom because the sperm has something in it that helps soften the cervix and helps to get it dialated, and in my case, induces my labor! So try it! Maybe have your partner hold back from any play for a couple days, might work better the more potent he is?! Haha! :-)

I've been drinking 3 cups a day since 35 weeks and now I'm 41 weeks. I don't think it works!!

I am 38 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. My nurse told me about the raspberry tea. She told me to boil 32oz water with 4 bags of the tea. Make it real strong, should be dark red in color. Let it cool, then drink it on ice with some sweetener if preferred. She said you have to drink it all day long, lots of it. So far today I have drank 4 32oz glasses of it with nothing so far. Just feels like my whole uterus is on big knot. I hope this works. She said it should bring it on the same day if done this way.

OK....I'm nearly 39 weeks and desperate to get the baby out. She's dropped and is a good weight but I'm having trouble with all the ways of natural induction.

Nipple stimulation is one of the best things I've done so far because it promotes oxytocin and feels great ;) That has given me contractions but that's not usually the problem that women who want to induce labor have...

To ripen the cervix eat alot of fresh pineapple."There seems to be general agreement that pineapple and its bromelain components do have a fibrolytic action, perhaps helping to soften the connective tissue of the cervix"

that's just my tip will pick some up at the market next time I go and will let everyone know how it goes

I am nearly 39 weeks and can sympathise with all of you... how bad are the last few weeks!!! I am so over this pregnancy, just want the birth to come on! Bought the tea today, had one cup so far, making a second now, have had some great contractions this afternoon, hope they continue, will let you know

Morgan - September 3rd, 2005 12:52 AM

Ok I ate a whole pineapple last night! Nothing. I bought another one today because I am trying to stay optomistic but I think this is a battle of wills my little girl is going to win. Can't force her out without resorting to a crowbar and trust me it's tempting. So I'm still going with the raspberry leaf tea. and pineapple. sex and nipple rubbing is also on the menu for tonight *LOL* My partner is looking forward to his contribution!!!!!

It should not be drunk before 35 weeks and its thought that it could bring on labour as it tones the muscles of the uterus but ive been drinking it for 2 weeks 3 cups a day n nothing yet! but it doesnt taste that bad n worth a try as it hasnt got any bad points to it! good luck!

marion - September 3rd, 2005 8:50 PM

I have yet to drink the tea with this baby number 2.It seems to want to come out all on its own,Im 35 weeks and was told this am that i am in early labor but only dialted half a centemeter and that it could take 2 or three days to progress im having contractions and just waiting for them to get stronger. pluse im realy worried about the baby coming this early any one have some advise?
