Your doc should tell you thats strange when he does the internal exam next time make a point of asking. How much weight have you gained? Is you uterus measuring big it should be 37 cm maybe 38 that will give you some idea of how big your baby is.

Thankyou sheri. My doc hasn't done any internal exams on me yet through the whole pregnancy, and whats more worrying is I've never had a pap smear and he knows this. I would of thought that it was important? and i dont understand, how is the uterus measured and is my doc meant to do that or can I? Also I have put on about 14 kgs at my last check up.

i am 39 weeks and dilated to 2, 75 percent effaced and so ready to have this baby. someone said drinking rasberry tea could help you to go into labor is this true?

Jayda - October 7th, 2005 1:42 AM

I was told that Camel Meal Tea helps you to get into labor, my cousin had told me it had work for her,With her first baby she went in labor in couple of hours, the baby was healthy and fine,So was wondering because i am 37 weeks pregnant do you think it works?..or is it risky?

anna - October 7th, 2005 11:17 AM

i think if your 37 weeks or earlier i would wait at least 2 more weeks or until your 39 weeks

Take into consideration the fact that at 40 weeks and 3 or 4 days you are going to go into labour sooner or later!

With my third son my aunt told me to take caster oil and orange juice and it worked, I took it about 9-10a and about 10p my membranes started to leak and when I got to the hospital I was 3 centimeters dialated.

Hi girls. I wrote a post way back on this thread when I was overdue with my second baby. I was soooo desperate to get her out! But I just wanted to let you all know that I was due to be induced on my 10th day over and she came on her own, the day before. I had an amazing 2 hour birth, totally drug free (which I still cant believe! I had the lot with my first!!)
From her third night she was sleeping 7 hours and now, at 4 weeks is sleeping from 8.30 at night till 6am! My midwife said that is very typical of late babies as they are so healthy and settled. Im in heaven! So basically what im saying is that in highinsight I wouldnt have worried about being late- its meant happiness the other end even though the last stages of pregnancy were so terrible!!
hang in there all you wonderful mums!

I am 41 weeks 1 day (was due oct 1st) and planned to be induced on tuesday night...2 more days. I have been trying everything to get myself to go into labor or even get myself closer to going into labor. I have been having sex (lots...hehehe), walking through the mall, I tried castor oil, spicy foods, and even raspberry leaf tea and I am still 1 cm and only about 25% effaced. Castor oil and other self-induction methods work on a case by case basis. Everyone is different. I have had all of my friends suggest different things that made them go into labor and absolutely nothing is working for me. The baby will come when he or she is ready. Mine just isn't ready I guess. I was 23 days late and my hubby was 10 days late, so she's probably just being lazy like we were!! But good luck to everyone else and I wish you all the best. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

well ladies I hope everything is working well for you. babies are something else... Well Ihope all your babies are doing well

judy - October 12th, 2005 8:58 AM

this is my fifth pregnancy and eating fresh pineapple and taking a small dose of evening primrose oil has always worked for me..i've never gone over due.. in fact never gone beyond 39 weeks. i'm due on the 24th of october and have just started eating the pineapple and taking the tablets now..i'll get back to you with the resuls

anna - October 13th, 2005 8:23 PM

well when I was pregnant I did the same thing but it never worked for me. so i went to my last resort...and it worked but I can tell many ladies have already had there baby because less people come to this post

Sweetgrrl - October 14th, 2005 1:20 AM

My due date is today, I went to my last (hopefully) doc appt and was told im 4cm but will be induced next Tuesday unless i go into labor before then. I just tried some spice food and pineapple hoping that helps......the castor oil thing kind of scares me

judy - October 14th, 2005 6:09 AM

does anyone think that boys tend to come late than girls?? from what i gather from friends, boys are lazy and don;t want to come and need inducing where as girls tend to come on there own??? is there any truth in this???

mona - October 14th, 2005 3:37 PM

I just tried the castor oil thing. Everybody I know says it works, but it didn't for me. I am 38 wks and huge, swollen, my back is in pain etc...I am trying the castor oil thing again but I am going to walk and try to stay mobile instead of doing it at night. I think it might help stimulate things down there. The way I see it is I can't sleep anyways and my baby is already big so..why not its worth all the poo to me.I will let ya all know what happens, oh and I heard cumin tea works too for dilation and breast milk production, go figure.
