I am due on the 26th of Feb. and it is the 17th. I am more than ready to have my son. Its my third child and with both of my daughters I went in my 37th week. My son just wont come out. My doctor said that on my next appt. on the 21st they will scheduale the inducment of labor. I heard it hurts and don't want to have to wait that long. What all can I do to go into labor now?!

Oh and by the way the reason they want to induce my labor is that he is a big baby!

they'll probably put you on a pitocin drip-which is real bad for making contractions worse-I reccomend nipple stimulation-even if you have a breast pump-hook it up and see what happens. It can start contractions. Have to do it for a while-I used nipple stimulation with my son-took about 5 days-but I went into labor-no sure way of knowing if that was why or if I was just ready! Good luck to you!

doesnt matter if you induce or if they do, you will still get the same painfull effect. even with nipple stimulation. Pitocin is the med that the dr. gives via I.V., its a synthetic form of oxytocin, which is released in youre body when you try to stimulate the breasts, so either way, you will still have the same, painfull effect. Castor oil is the same way, if you take that, you will get very strong and very painfull contractions. my advise, if you are going to feel it either way, you have to be the one to decide to do it. either way, you'll have a lil cutie soon, good luck.

I am due Feb 26th and I am dying to give birth to my son, it is my first, and they told me they will not induce me until march3-6... they told me that walking could bring on labor...I'm in the same boat, I have been feeling sick and they said that that was a sign of beginning labor, I am 50 percent effaced...if anybody has anymore ideas, let me know...I am ready to push my little squirt out!!

Hi!
I'm 38+2 and my midwife rccommends fresh pineapple! Apparently it works the same way as castor oil without the grim side effects! Well I can think of worse things!
Good luck!

i agree about the pineapple, it will definately get your'e bowels moving lol. but it also does give some pretty good contractions, although they are not gauranteed to do any thing, they could subside, they did for me, but remember with every braxton hick, or regular contraction, some thing is going on. every time you have one or the other, its helping to soften the cervix, so eat up, plus the fresh ones are nice and juicy, taste great.
