Mucous Plug Vs Bloody Show

What is the difference between your mucous plug and your bloody show? They both sound like mucous that can be tinged with blood? How do you know the difference??

Hey, poizinniv,
Now for me, i lost my mucous plug about a week before i had my dd, it was just when ever i went to the bathroom, it looked like snot coming out of me, very gross I'm sorry but true. And for me i didn't have my bloody show until i was in active labor and almost 10cm dilated. I believe bloody show is exactly how it sounds.. lots of blood, and mucus plug only could have some blood in it, i however didn't have any blood. i hope this helps, every women is different though.
