I'm scheduled for my c-section Oct 21. This is my second pregnancy. I'm curious to know how far along in labor I have to be to go to the hospital and at what stage will they go ahead with the c-section. thanks for you help.

You should go to the hospital if your water breaks, or if your contraction are consistantly 5 mins. apart and painful. False labor contractions are sporadic and painful but not intense and they don't get stronger and stronger they will stay they same intensity and sometimes will stop if you lay down for a while. Real contractions get stronger and closer together and won't stop if you change your activity, if this happens go to the Dr. As far as when they will do the c-section, I am not sure but I don't think they would let you labor for too long if thier is a medical reason for the C-section.
