The safest ways to start labor at home would be the usual ones. Sex, orgasm, pineapple, raspberry leaf tea, walking etc. Some people swear by these methods but having tried them all myself I'm not as convinced!!! I think they might work, but only if baby is ready to come out. Good luck!

No matter what you do naturally...the baby is not going to come out until he/she is ready. But I agree that sometime the baby is ready and just hangs out in there to make us go insane. So if you induce and get nothing.....the baby is not ready to come out. Evening rose oil in the vagina rippings and softens the cervic for easy drop down and labor.

raspberry leaf tea will help to strengthen the uterus,but will not send you into labor. Pineapple, you would have to eat TONS a day for it to work as there is little of the chemical needed in pineapple...so you would have to eat like 2 whole fresh pineapples a day. Walking and sex may help, but if your body isn't ready, nothing will work. have your doctor strip your membranes.....it worked for me.;

Nothing works if baby isn't ready. As Tammy said raspberry leaf tea doesn't send you into labor and you'd have to eat tons and tons of fresh pineapple for it to possibly work. I've tried sex, walking, and my doc even stripped the membrane...nothings worked yet. The membrane stripping will work if the baby is ready (and I've heard it's more likely to work if you've already had a kid, but I don't know if that's true or not). Accupressure is suppose to work pretty well and be safe to use (try doing a google search or talk to an accupressure/accupuncturest.), so you could try that. Overall though I don't know that anything can "force" it to happen if baby isn't ready.

My Dr. told me with my daughter to eat the garlic chicken pizza at round table. It's the one with the white sauce. It gave me some REALLY strong contractions. I did not go into labor though. My sister in law tried it after me and it worked for her. Her baby must have been ready. If you don't have a round table pizza then maybe just eat something with a bunch of garlic and cheese. I think it was the gas pains that started the contractions for me... Good luck!
