Blighted Ovum

I have been visiting this forum religiously for about a year but have not yet posted. This happend to me with my 1st pregnancy, my 2nd ended in a missed miscarriage (D & C) and my 3rd was a Turner Syndrome baby that only made it to 12 weeks (D & C). I am now 30 weeks pregnant with my 1st child but 4th pregnancy. With my 1st pregnancy, I ended up with a blighted ovum at 7 weeks. My doctor and radiologist told me that basically the egg was fertilized but never implanted...so it was never really a baby. After my 2nd miscarriage, I went through all the testing and found out that I have Factor V Leiden (a blood clotting disorder). I now have to take shots once a day to keep my pregnancy. The answer is YES - you will conceive again with no problems! It took me 3 months in between all of my pregnancies, which can seem like forever when you are trying to replace a loss. Just know that blighted ovums are common as are miscarriages; although I know that does not make it easier for you. I wish you the best of luck and pray that you get the miracle you dream of!! |
