Hi..I am 19 1/2 weeks pregnant now and last week I was hospitalized for a week with a double kidney infection. I was in a LOT of pain and the OBGYN had the nurses giving me shots of Dillodid, Visterol and Demerol every 3-6 hours. Plus IV antibiotics. The day before I was released from the Hospital the Dr. Had the nurses giving me both Flex R All and Darvisat every 6 hours!!! I told my Dr and the nurse that I didn't want to be taking all these drugs while pregnant and I was assured time and again that because I was in my 2nd trimester that what are called category B drugs(like the ones I was given) are safe to take in pregnancy as long as it isn't for extended periods of time. Also the Dr. told me that it wasn't good for the baby if I was in so much pain because I was so tense and emotional and upset. So they kept giving me the drugs despite my hesitations. Has anyone been through anything similar and if so please tell me everything turned out ok.
