I think its time for everyone to check in... how is everyone doing? I have been doing great. I had to go to labor and delivery last week because I thought I was leaking amniotic fluid. Turns out it was urine :) Embarrassing, but better then amniotic fluid! I am now 32 weeks and have an appt next week, when I will get to schedule the c-section! 4-5 weeks left!

Suzy - June 9th, 2006 4:47 PM

Glad to hear you are doing well. I'm sure that is not the first time someone has gone in thinking its amniotic fluid, at least everything is okay. I am doing well. I basically have been working part-time and do most of my work at home. I'll have the summer off, so I'm not worried about work. I had BAD pain for a while, but basically rest helps. Some days I'm okay, no pain. Other days I either spend too much time on my feet or too much time at my desk and I end up hating it, the pain comes back and I start panicking that it will get bad like before. I basically take it easy and evrything is okay. I hope the rest of the pregnancy isn't like this, it's really slowing me down, but if that's what its going to take to keep me and the baby happy, then I'm totally okay with it. I'm also focusing on gaining weight. I was 35 lbs overweight before I got pregnant and I have not gained any weight in 16 weeks. I'm eating healthy now (versus my prior eating habits), and I'm eating every few hours, I'm hoping to start packing on the pounds soon.

Hi Ladies,

I am new here, but I am just going to jump right in to offer some encouragement. I am 41 and TTC my 1st child ever. I have two fibroids - the largest of which is 4cm.

My mom had me and my brother in a "third world country" with some very bright doctors. She had me at 31 and I beat the daylights out of the fibroid. I was 9lbs thank you very much! My brother was 7lbs and was born holding one of the fibroids.

CAUTION! When mom had my brother, the visiting western educated doctor went against advice of local doctors (what do you colonials know?) and decided to do a C section to get my bro out and then remove the fribroids. Well you all know what happened. She nearly hemorraghed to death. My uncle had to give her blood. She survived thank God and is now in her 70s. What a quack her surgeon was!

Anyway for more recent testimonies, my sis had her son with a gazillion (bunches of grapes) fibroids. My assistant had a beautiful son with multiple fibroids. So it is possible.

I am not a mom yet, but as you can see from my username....I ain't giving up.

Hang in there and 40 weeks of sticky stuff to all of you!! Be blessed.

Suzy, I can tell you during my pregnancy, the first and second trimesters were the worst for the pain. In the third trimester, so far, I had a few bouts with contractions, but they are never productive... just annoying. I have felt the best in the third trimester, by far.... I hope it is the same for you and you will get to actually "enjoy" being pregnant and say goodbye to the worry and the pain for a few months before the baby comes. Prisoner-of-hope... good luck! Be sure to check in and let us know how your trials go!

Hi girls! Suzy, I'm glad to hear you are dong better. Are you still on bed rest? It is great that you can work from home. Skn331 I had a laugh when I read about your leaking issue. I totaly understand. With all you have been through better be safe than sorry. My dr keeps repeating to me to be aware of contractions. And I don't know how they feel like. So one day I had some cramps and I got so freaked out I told DH that I want to go to ER because I think it may be contractions, so after I passed gas (sorry TMI) I figured that those were actually not contractions. Except for being a little paranoid I'm doing well, I have no pain. Joker I hope you are well and that baby is growing. Good Luck on your next U/S.

Rowena - June 13th, 2006 10:51 AM

Hi all, how're u all doing? I'm now just over 17 weeks (using 12 wk scan). So far so good. I feel my tummy's not growing as quickly as i tot it would but if baby's ok, i'm not complaining. I think i started to have a few Braxton hicks contractions about 2-3 a day, sometimes causing the fibroid to bulge, anyone experience this, isnt it a bit early for that?? the fibroid is a the top of my uterus so easy to feel seperately from the uterus. sometimes i wonder if my sitting or lying positions cause it to compress the baby, may sound funny but i realy worry.

Rowena - June 13th, 2006 10:53 AM

By the way, does any one know the official age of viablility in the UK, just wanting to know wen to officialy stop worrying :)

AmberL - June 13th, 2006 12:33 PM

Hi! I am new to this site and I am so glad I found it. I am 32 years old and have multiple fibroids, the biggest one measuring over 10cm. I had a miscarriage in November and I am currently 6 weeks pregnant. I am very excited and very scared. I have been having some pretty strong pains especially when I am sitting. I was hopeful that it was related to the fibroid and after reading your messages I feel much better. My doctors are hopeful. I have my first ultrasound at the beginning of July and I am holding my breath until then. I wish all of you luck and will continue to check back . Thanks!

skn331 - June 13th, 2006 1:27 PM

Rowena, I dont know about in the UK. In the US viability ranges from state to state, but typically I think its 24 weeks. Only 7 weeks to go! I am sure you will be just fine. The weeks seem to go by pretty fast, dont they? How far along are you now Lelaini?

MelissaK - June 13th, 2006 2:02 PM

Hi everyone - I posted here at the beginning of the year after 2 MCs of twins both times. I had my myo in March and then I had to have a scar revision surgery in May (thanks to my bogus close from my OB for the myo). We start TTC in July (one more cycle!) and I am really excited. I had three big roids, one measuring the size of a baseball. I just turned 38 and this will be our first if we can get to that point!

Leilani14 - June 13th, 2006 3:40 PM

Hi! Rowena don't worry, baby is an expert in making room for her/himself. She/He already moved around so many organs, if it is fibroid or your liver, he/she doesn't care. Sk331, I'm almost 26 weeks. and I'm counting the days until third trimestar. AmberL, welcome. I hope everything goes well at your U/S . Melissa, a lot of baby dust to you.

skn331 - June 14th, 2006 1:25 PM

I had an OB appt today and we scheduled the amnio and c-section! I have three weeks left. The section is scheduled for July 7th. I'll be 36 weeks and one day. He said there is a 10% chance the lungs wont be mature, and if not we'll put it off until the next week. But hopefully the baby will be ready!!!!! I cant believe it. Oh, he also said the u/s showed my fibroids have not grown any since the second trimester. I think that's normal for growth to stop or slow down. ANd my baby is definately not twin sized (according to the u/s) as they feared he originally might be because of the fibroids. He'll be 7 pounds, at 4 weeks early. Melissa, good luck, I bet you'll be back in August with good news. Lelaini you are almost in the clear... good luck for the last few weeks.

Joker - June 14th, 2006 5:58 PM

Hi everyone, Glad to know everyone is hanging in there and staying positive. Skn congrats on your c-section appt! I believe your baby will be fine..he weighs more than enough :) Per my last post I did my u/s with the MFM and everything is great..the baby is measuring correctly and his head is shaped fine...that was a concern because my last u/s showed his head shaped more oblong than circle but today it was fine and I thank GOD!! They said he was probably pushing against a fibroid at the last u/s. SKN do you know if you are having a boy or a girl? Take care everyone.

Rowena - June 15th, 2006 5:04 AM

Hi al, congrats Skn331 on ur progress,i wish you happy delivery. Its been quite encouraging to read your posts all along. I have my doctors appt today and pray all goes well. cheerio

skn331 - June 16th, 2006 1:20 PM

Rowena, how did your doc appt go? Any new news? Joker, I am having a boy... definately a boy. Glad to hear everything looked good on your u/s!

Rowena - June 17th, 2006 4:06 AM

Hey! doc's appt was ok. They want to stick with using my LMP dates so i'm still just over 17weeks today, Doc thot it could be braxton hicks tho its a bit early but wasnt concerned bcos no pain or bleeding. My next appt is for 20week scan. Cant wait to be 30 weeks and relax. I really, really want this baby! I've even stopped work already cos DH and i thot we didnt want any risks after 2m/c...(e.g i wont be able to go and lie down when these "contractions" come). Skn331, guess you've done all ur baby shopping, decided on a name and all that. I'm still trying to decide whether or not i want to find out the sex, i want the surprise but i'l probably be too curious!
