Hi girls, hope u're all doin ok. I had to go on bed rest for about a week cos i started having preterm contractions @ 32 weeks. They stoped with medication luckily. I'm 34 weeks now and dont really mind if baby comes cos his/her lungs should be mature now. Also i had a scan and the baby's position wasnt head down. Dr says if it stays that way i might need a c-section. I'l have another scan next week to see.Dr think the fibroids may prevent baby staying head down comfortably. Looks like i'm not a big baby but as far as s/he's healthy i'm hapi. Hobit13 i pray all goes well for u, i've heard it happens sometimes wen the scan is too early, they can miss heartbeat. Knguyen, u're more than halfway now hopefullyfibroids wont grow much. or at least wont cause any probs even if they grow. Mine have grown a about 2cm to about 9cm now but no serous probs. Hang in there! |

hi knguyen, my fibroids have not grown since the first trimester. they got really pronounced in the first trimester and i could feel my stomach stretching and get a slight pain at that time. i looked like 5 to 6 mths pregnant when i was 8 weeks. i just busted out, and then the growth slowed until about 20 weeks when i started to grow once more. i am 24 weeks on tues and looking like 30 weeks. my doctor is not AS worried as he was before. now, i just get maybe a sharp pain once every few days but nothing lasting longer than 2 seconds. fortunately i have not had to take any pain medication for my pregnancy. i think i am in tune with my body and i can tell the types of pains i have. i have not had contractions or threatened labour so far. just the sharp pains that i know come from from the fibroids...i was constipated for a while, but fine now, but i could also diffrentiate that type of discomfort. i am only hoping and praying to reach my 32 week mark where his lungs are better developed. also, when i had my first ultrasound at 6 weeks, the sac was lying low with no heartbeat and at the 8 week ultrasound it moved higher to a nice safe place with a heartbeat. the doctors have no explanation for this. my mother is a midwife and ultrasonologist and she told me it is better if the embryo is implanted high rather than low because apparently there may a greater risk of miscarriage the lower it is and closer to your cervix. but it is only a risk and not a certainty. |

Hello, everyone. I am so happy to have found this site. I just got a Myomectomy on Oct 02, 2006. This was my second Myo. I had the last one in July 2000. After the first, I was told to hurry up and get preg. Ofcourse, that is difficult to do when you don't have a boyfriend or husband. So, I obviously didn't get preg. So, the Fibroid Critters returned and I found out just 3wks ago that I would have to go in to have a D&C, Hystereoscopy, and Laparoscopy to later find out a wk before the scheduled procedure that I would in fact have to get a Myo, Operative Hystereoscopy, Cystectomy and Lysis of Adhesions... I was told that if I didn't get the surgery and remained the same. I would not conceive... This hurt because that has been my dream since I was a kid... My love for children is so great. Ofcourse, I cried and prayed. I knew I would have to get the procedure done... Anything for my children... So, I did research and found a wonderful OB/GYN. He made me feel so comfortable and confident. On the day of surgery, he came out to meet to greet my family and walk me to the surgical room. On our way there, he told me jokes... When arriving in the cold surgical room, he introduced me to everyone. Although, I was scared they made me feel alittle better. When I woke up, the first face I saw was my doctor who told me that the surgery was a success... Although, there was some pain, I am happy to have had a great doctor who has a terrific rep, a supportive family and a God who knows my heart and desires. The Cyst on my right ovarie was removed and majority of the tumors were removed except for one that they couldn't remove because of it's location in the top of my uterus. Therefore, they shaved it down. My doctor said that my husband and I can start working on getting pregnant in a few wks. To anyone who is going to get a Myo. Pray first and make sure that God has led you to the doctor. Trust and then ask for strength. Make sure you take the time to release any stress you may hold inside, work on getting closure to any past situations and envision positive things for your future. I will keep you informed. I get the staples out next wk and then the doctor will tell me when we can work on getting preg. |

Hi! I have a hugge fibroid. When they found it, I had 12 wks of pregnacy, and it was 15cm. My OB didn't know what to expect and was very honest with me about the risk my pregnacy might have, also to consider a miscarriage. I was desperated and very discorauge because it was the first baby for me and my husband. But I decided to put it in God's hands and let Him do his will. I'm glad to say today that I'm 38 weeks of pregnacy, the fibroid has grown to 19cm, but the baby is in perfect conditions, according to all the tests and ultrasounds I've had. I'll have my c-seccion this next Monday...and I thrust The Lord will continue taking care of the baby and me. |

I am glad I found this site. I just had a Laprascopic Myomectomy on 10/3. It had originally been found in Feb. After months of monitoring and a second opionion the doctor requested they decided to do surgery. I was on a lupron shot for 5 months before I had surgery. It had shrunk very much from what the doctor saw in ultrasounds. He was only suppose to make three incisions on my stomach but ended up making six small incisions because it was larger than he expected around softball size. My uterus was like I was 16-18 weeks preg. before the surgery now it is around 6 weeks. I am hoping to start trying to conceive in April. I am getting married in June so I do not want to look to pregnant if I happen to get pregnant right away. I want a baby so bad I just hope having these don't ruin my chances. I will have to have a c-section once I do become pregnant since the myo. The doctor did say I have a better chance of conceiving now than before the surgery because there was no way a baby could of survived with the fibroid in there |

cnis07- Congrats, you made it through! We both had our procedures on Oct 03. Just curious... Why do you have to wait until April to start conceiving? My doctor told me that I could now have intercourse... We have a few times... I was alittle scared... It is alittle painful. I was told that it's because it's been a month since intercourse and because of the catheter, etc. My doctor said the body will not allow me to get preg if it's not ready. We've got to believe that everything will be OK. Pls, keep in touch and let us know your progress and I will do the same. I know that there has to be a blessing in all of this. |

Hi Everyone...I'm so glad everyone is doing well. I'm still hanging in there, it will be 11 weeks on October 29th. I already look huge and I had to go buy maternity jeans today. I'm going in for another ultrasound on Nov. 1st, so I'll hopefully get some more info then. How did all of you stay focused through this whole thing? I'm just so nervous to count down every week that I feel like it's consuming all of my thoughts. I just want to fast forward to 32 weeks so I know that the baby will be safe! I'm praying for all of you!! |

msmonet - I am waiting till April to get start trying because I am getting married in June and just in case I do get pregnant right away I do not want to be a big pregnant bride. The doctor told me to wait for intercourse for six weeks because of the bottom incision still healing. Did it not hurt like hell the first time you had to get out of bed I was almost in tears from the pain. |

cnis07- I just got married in July. Congrats to you. Oh, yes it hurt when I got out of bed but it actually hurt more when I went to get my staples out. My skin healed really well... Perhaps, too fast and I suppose it became really good friends with the staples and did not want to depart. So, when I went in. Based on what most had told me... The staples would pop out quickly... That did not happen for me. It hurt like hell!!!! I cried out like a baby, I was shaking so bad and perspiring. After a few breaks the doctor returned and started up again. As did I,,, I asked if he had gotten half of the staples out and he looked at me and said that he hadn't gotten one out yet... So, he tried a larger device and that didn't work. So, he scheduled me to go to a friend of his who is a surgeon and who has a bigger and stronger staple remover. I went to her and she took out at least 6 staples... I didn't feel them but I started to feel the rest so they gave me some numbing creme. I still felt everything but she took them all out. This was worse then the surgery to me!!! Uggghh! Oh, and this is not to say that everyone will experience this. Most don't. For some reason, I seem to always have the unique experiences. |

Hello everyone. My name is Misty and i will be 7 weeks Tuesday. I went to the hospital last friday with bad cramping and alot of pressure. While performing an ultrasound they found a fibroid about 4 cm. It is at the top left side of my uterus. They are gonna do an ultrasound 11/8 to see where the baby implanted. The doctor sounds optomistic, although, i am scared to death. This is my fourth pregnancy and my other 3 went just fine, no complications. I am just worried to death. |

Hi all. I'm 19 weeks pregnant and started having contractions a week ago, they diagnosed it as being caused by a small (2-3cm) fibroid that had been undetected before pregnancy. |
