Sarah-sorry it took so long to respond! Well, I had/have some in the uterus and some that were outside....so a little of both! On my last post I put that my largest was 15, that was wrong it was 25cm...abosolutely huge! That was the one that was outside and you could see it when I layed down on my back it would stick up out of my stomach....anyways as for my c-section I did really well, I wanted to go home after being in the hospital for 2 days, so I did and I recovered pretty quickly, again I was in shape then so my dr. did say that I should recover well! As for my NEXT c-section, I am dreading this one because I am not in the shape that I was, so we'll just have to see how this one goes! What about your decision have you made one yet?

Sdillion . C-section doesn't sound so bad. Well my doc says my fibroid is outside the uterus and it's 5cm. To avoid discomfort and pain when i do get pregnant that i should take it out. i went for 2 other opinions. And one other doc said to leave it alone . So how big was your fibroid outside your uterus before your pregnancy ? Was it peduculated?
i am leading towards leaving it alone.
I'll be seeing another GYN. who deals with high risk pregnancies. So i'll let u know what i decide.

Anyone else here with pedunculated fibroids or outside the uterus and pregnant? What happened during pregnancy?

Just went in to see the infertility doctor for a consultation. As mentioned, I have been having some problems with my period this last month and I've been feeling a heaviness on the lower right side. Well, it looks like the fibroid that my doctor shaved down may have grown alittle... I have to get a bunch of tests around the time of my period to determine if the fibroid is still acting as birth control... If I need another myo to remove it or if we can do ivf. Pls, pray for me. I just got a myo in oct 2006. When my husband and i were at the clinic, I felt like crying. My husband was cool and calm and believes everything will be fine but I so emotional. The doctor also gave me prescriptions for prenatal vit, folic acid and something called bioendurance pills. All the blood tests, tests and exams really begin the day of my period. The wks after that will determine alot. Say alittle prayer for me. Feeling alittle blue, today.

I thought i would let everyone know my situation. I have had Fibroids for about 4 years. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. My two biggest fibroids are 12 cm and 7 cms and i have two others. I have just had my 20 week scan and they have found a cyst on the babys brain and a white dot on its heart. Has anyone had a similar situation or know anything further. Thanks Nikki

I recently gave birth to a healthy baby boy via c-section and I had one very large fibroid (10cm) and six other small ones all around my uterus. My son was squashed and as a result was breech so I had to deliver via cesarian. I kept reading that I might deliver early or be put on bedrest but that never happened. I was taken out of work at 35 weeks because of high blood pressure but not because of early contractions. I had a happy health pregnancy with no pain from the fibroids and a very easy c-section despite my doctor's worry about trouble controlling bleeding. I did have to go for many many ultrasounds to check the growth of the baby and to check the growth of the fibroids so make sure your doctor is doing that. Don't worry and take good care of yourself.

I'm so glad to find this site and read all of your stories. I am 14 weeks pregnant and apparently have two large fibroids measuring 10cm each at last u/s - about 3 weeks ago. As I understand it, they are within the uterine wall. Just had an apt. with my gyn. last week and she told me to count on a c-section. That was very disappointing news, but, of course, the main objective is a healthy baby - however it comes out. Anyway, one thing I've noticed is that most of you who have been told you will need c-sections said your fibroids were really low and baby was high. I'm a bit different. The fibroids seem to start more or less to the left of and a bit above my belly button and continue down really low. I believe the reason the dr. said I'll need to c-section is becasue of the fact that the fibroids are in the lining of the uterus. Does the make sense based on what you all have read? Also, I'm already quite big. My dr. said I look like about 20 weeks -- at 14! I actually don't mind, but my husband says he's worried about what will happen when I'm about to deliver!

Hello All !!

This is simply the best forum on Fibroids And Pregnancy.
I am glad I found it.

I am 31 Years old and in my 19th week.
I was diagnosed with Fibroids at my first ultrasound a few weeks back.

Till about 6 days ago everything was going on great. Of course I had the morning sickness and other normal pregnancy related issues during the 1st trimester.

But last Friday I started getting this severe pain in my stomack. Initially I thought that it was gas problem because the pain kept moving across my stomach and I was also constipated. I called my doctor (did not go for a visit) and they also thought it was gas trouble and recommended GASX. But that did not relive the issue.

Now the pain is more localized. I just feel it my left bottom abdomen and sometimes at the lower him or just round the corner from the him on my back.

I have not been sleeping for days now because of the pain.

After going through all the posts in the forum, I am pretty sure this pain is due to the Fibroids and not gas.
What do you guys think?

I really do not want to take any pain medicine because I cannot keep them down and plus I am worried about the impact it will have on my baby. Is there anything else I can do to relive the pain and to let me have a good nights sleep.

Can I continue eating my normal diet ?

I an really concerned since this is preventing from getting a good nights sleep and also from eating properly.

Please advice.

Should I go to the ER.

Please get back to me as soon as you can.

Congratulations to everybody who are expecting and may god bless all of you and may all of you have very Healthy babies.

Regards
PD
