I have herpes and want to try to get pregnant. Do I have a chance? Is anyone else in a similar situation or gone through this? All information would be great. Thank You

Absolutely no problem. If you happend to have an outbreak at time of delivery, they will probably do a c-section. There is no conclusive evidence I found that says herpes interferes with your fertility. I actually had my first outbreak while pregnant, at about 4 months. I was small, only slightly painful and went away in a few days. I guess I had other things I was worried about and that were more uncomfortable. Good Luck!!

yes you have awesome chances of having a baby. My best friends sister also has herpes. She has 2 very beautiful children. She did have to have a c-section with both for the "just in case" factor of it all. Your chances are splendid! ~Kristin~

Just curious ladies, how did u find out you had herpes? During a routine visit or did an outbreak promp a doctors visit?
Godd look to you...

My best friend has it as well, and she just had her second healthy child. She delivered BOTH vaginally, no less. She didn't have any trouble getting pregnant either.

hi- i also wanna know how you know if you have it, cos i heard that some people barely have any symptoms. Can you have it if you and your husband have only slept with each other? do they do a physical exam to see-especially before birth? i heard it could be fatal to a baby, and i'm really nervous!

aparras, dont worry about the Herpes. I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and ive had herpes for almost five years. Even if you have no symptoms or are currently not on any supressive medication at your fist visit the doctor will discuss it with you. I have been taking my supressive medication religiosly and have no plans, intentions or outlook of having a c-section. The doctors have also already informed me that I will be able to breast feed as well. Keep your head up, dont worry about anything and dont stress yourself out.
