Can anyone help with this? I am going through a bad time and j ust wonder if thre is any reason to stay positive.

My LMP was 4/1. I had my ist ob/gyn visit on 5/24, The u/s showed one abnormal sac with no heartbeat and one normal sac witha ferus and a fluttering heartbeat. Dr says fetus is smaller than what it should be at that point. He didnt say what it was measuring but I was 7w3d on the 24th.

I got a blood test on that day then another 2 days later

5/24 results 12298
5/26 results 12181

So my hcg declined. The nurse who gave me the results only said that the #'s did not look reassuring. Does this mean I am going to m/c for sure? Can the declining # have anything to do with the abnormal sac w/o a fetus/heartbeat?

My next u/s is on 6/1 and I feel like I am going to have an anxiety attack before that day ever comes

Thank you for any help you can give.

What are the steps to having a DNC done? I have to have one done in about a week and half. I'm really scared about it and my doctor never told me anything about what will take place. I had had a miscarriage about 7 months ago. Ever since then I've had a lot of troubke with my female organs. If someone out there could please fill me in on what I'll be going through, I would greatly apprciate it.

Felicia,

My baby no longer showed a heartbeat when I went in last Wed but I haven't miscarried on my own so my Dr scheduled a D&C for me this Wednesday June 8.

I have to go to a pharmacy to pick up some medicine today. Tomorrow my Dr will insert it in me to soften my cerivx. Then Wed I go in for the D&C. I was told I will be under anethesia and will be there 2-3 hours and DH has to drive me home b/c I am not allowed to drive afterwards.

This is all I know so far. Hope it helps a little.

Hey I had some light brownish discharge about a week and half ago. I had my ultrasound today, but we only saw the sack and no baby, the doctor said it was to small to see. She estimated I was 5 week's.

Danielle - June 20th, 2005 4:52 PM

I had the same problem, they kept on telling me this, and they did another ultrasound and found the baby.

I went for my first abdominal ultrasound at 7 weeks, doc did not see any sac and refused to do vaginal ultrasound to confirm. Sent me for blood tests and said to wait to see the hcg levels. I had the longest weekend ever and tomorrow, doc is supposed to call me. She seems very unfeeling, said if I have to miscarry, I will miscarry anyway (I had a prior miscarriage before). My question is, is 7 weeks too early to be detected on abdominal ultrasound? I have no spotting at present ( a little in the beginning) and have the pregnancy symptoms. Trying to arrange for a second opinion appointment with someone else, but it's so difficult to get an appointment in this country!!! The wait is really killing me!!!!!!!!!

this is my 5th week of pregnancy and my hCG is low. I took another blood test two days later and the level had not gone up. I get very little spotting and some cramps should I be worry about a miscarriage? I've had two before.

I am also seven weeks pregnant and my HCG is at 1484, but they are saying that I may miscarry but not definately, and if they do order a DNC for me I will be sure to get a 2nd opinion.

Cyn - June 22nd, 2005 2:30 PM

I got my hcg levels back, one at 39260 and another day 50035, so it is going up but the doc wants to do 3 more blood draws and will only talk to me next week. :(

Doctors are human and medicine is not an exact science. I am glad everything worked out for you and save the law suit for something more sue-worthy

I was 7 wks along and miscarried on fathers day, We found out only a week before through a hpt, and I was scheduled to go in for my 1st visit today. I woke up Sunday morning feeling funny and having slight flutters in my stomach, i really didnt think much of it so I layed back down. Around 10ish I was awaken by severe cramps and when I went to the bathroom I passed a very large clot, it scared me so bad I couldn't even call for help. I finally called for my boyfriend and when he came into the bathroom i guess he saw it in my face, and there wasnt much either of us could do. I spoke with a dr at the womens and childrens hospital and he told me over 20% of women have been pregnant, miscarried, and never knew it. He said that if I continued to bleed that my body would rid itself of everything, but if I stopped for more then a day I needed to go in. I'm still bleeding heavily, and in a lot of pain..its nothing like menustral cramps. Its still not a reality to me, we weren't trying, but we knew it was a possibility so it wasnt a disappointment when we found out. Now I think its hitting home for us both, and its not easy.

HELLO TO ALL THAT IS ON THIS PAGE. I THANK YOU FOR YOUR STORIES. I HAVE BEEN TO THE ER TWICE SINCE I FOUND OUT I WAS PREGNANT ON THE 14 OF JUNE. AND ON THE LAST VISIT I WAS TOLD THE SAME THING, THAT MY LEVEL WAS LOW AND THAT I WAS GOING TO HAVE A MISCARRAGE. GIVEN THAT I AM AN AMERICAN SOLDIER OVERSEA IN KOREA AND MY HUSBAND IS OVERSEA IN HONDURAS, THIS IS ALOT TO TAKE BY MYSELF. BUT FOR DAYS I'VE BEEN PRAYING AND TODAY I FIND THIS SITE AND I THANK GOD FOR ALL THE STORIES AND THE HOPE THAT THESE WORDS HAVE GIVEN ME. I FEEL I CAN GO ON. I TRUELY THANK YOU ALL.
