Lowering

I recently found out I was pregnant. My tests were positive (6) my doctors was negative on the friday when the result returned, the hospital did 1 negative that friday afternoon (was sent to the hospital), they took blood also. Saturday I returned for ultrasound. Nothing! Was asked if I could be earlier than I origanally thought (6 weeks we thought), anyway they did another water test in the hospital on Saturday which showed positive (I wasnt looking crazy at last) then I returned for bloods again on Sunday where again they tested an positive. So their first 2 negative then 2 positives.
Monday I got my result - My hormone level had lowered by 20! All the woman asked me was to return this Monday to test - If Im negative they let me go if postive they go from there. I was too upset to ask questions & said my good byes. She did say early failing pregnancy!
Now is that a possibility or is that a defo with lowering levels. (lowered 20 in 48 hrs) - Sorry for seeming daft, this would be the first postive Ive had out of trying & although Im sure its the worst I feel daft ringing the early pregnacy unit back up.

To add to above when I said failing pregnancy I didnt hear what she said before or after that.
Just confused at 2 negs 2 positives. Would of thought the other way round but don't know much about the hormone levels. I'm still testing postive at home nearly 2 weeks later.
Hope someone can share their expierance with me.
