No Fetal Heartbeat

I had my first ultrasound yesterday and they couldnt detect a heartbeat, fetus was measuring at 8 weeks 4 days but according to LMP i should be 9 weeks 4 days. doctor ordered bloodwork to check hormone levels but is implying that ive miscarried even tho i have not had any bleeding or spotting and i am convinced that my baby is still ok. is it posssible that the doctor is wrong and that my baby is just too small to pick up its heart beat yet ?

The heartbeat can usually be found around 8 weeks. I would certainly request another scan in a week or so to recheck for the heartbeat in case it has been measured wrong or the baby is just a late starter. The bloodwork should be able to tell if the baby is ok or not. Good luck, I hope the baby is ok.
