Dawn- I am so sorry you lost your pregnancy. How are you feeling. I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better. I personally don't have any answers for you regarding your progesterone level. The only thing I would suggest is that you trust in your doctor to know what is best for you. Even if this means taking progesterone again. Have they established that this is the reason you are losing your pregnancy's? Maybe your progesterone level is low due to some other underlying problem. Have they tested your thyroid level. If this is low then all the other hormones in your body are going to be messed up so maybe it is something like that. Anyways, keep being adamant about your care. Keep pushing for them to find out what is wrong. If they already know what is wrong then just trust that they are specialy trained to help you. Take care and I will say a prayer for you.

Nichole-I am taking the pill form of progesterone called prometrium. The bottle, just like any other medication, states to not take during early pregnancy but that is only if you have not consulted with your doctor. You have to believe that your doctor knows best. I have been taking it since ovulation and am now 22 weeks. I took this same medication the same way for my other two succesful pregnancies and I have a healthy 6 and 3 year old. The two pregnancies I lost were ones that I didn't take the prometrium on so you see-The Doctor knew best! Hope this helps. Racheal-I get really sick on the progesterone too. I don't have that much of an appetite because of it but my doctor says baby is growing fine so I try not to worry. I just can't stand the nausea!

Hi MWAT- How are you doing? Sorry didn't mean to worry you but I have been having kind of a hard week. My emotions have been getting the best of me, plus with work it's been hard as well. I have been so tired that I have not been able to check the site. I read that you will be having your u/s on 05-17-05 I'm so excited for you. I hope and pray everything goes well. I understand about you not wanting to know the sex of the baby. It makes it that much more exciting when the baby is born. And we share the same feelings about not wanting to open gifts before the baby is born. I actually didn't want any gifts until the kids were born. I didn't want to jinks my pregnancy either. I also agree with Becky regarding the fetal doppler. I think it would give you some kind of peace of mind. They sell them in places like target and toys-r-us and they do have different prices. They sell them also in baby magazines or if you want to see them go to the target or toys-r-us web sites for babies they might have pictures. Just make sure to read all of the instructions before using. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you on tuesday. Again thank you for the info you gave me it makes more sense to me when I look it up on the websites. I have a better understanding of the use of the meds. Once again, thank u sooooo much. Hi Rosa...I have my u/s on the 27th, but my reg. check up tomorrow (17th). I am hoping that we can hear a good heart beat again. I did get a little worried when I did not hear from you, but I understand what being busy is like. The school year us wraping up and teachers are always extra busy. However a little extra because I am a Special Education teacher. On top of that my husband and I are house hunting. I will let you know tomorrow how everything goes. I am waiting for my hcg test, but my progesterone level last week was 41 and today I have some brown spotting, I am scared and don't know whether I should call the doctor or wait for my results.????

Jennifer, you may want to call your doctor. It may be nothing and they will be able to put your mind at ease, but if there is a problem they might be able to do somethig about it. ROSA - I had my doctors apt. today. Everything went just fine. The heart beat was 156. One thing...she said be prepared for a big baby. I am already measuring above my belly button. I am happy, if everything continues in the path that it is going now, that the baby will be big and healthy. However, the dr. told me that a C-section is quite possible and to start thinking about it. Reason being is I am very petite (5'1") and ususally 105-110 lbs. :) but now I gained 9 lbs. which is good. Anyway, my husband is 6'4". So I will probablly have baby "bubba" lol. I really do not want to have a c-section, but however the baby comes with the least problems is fine with me. Hi MWAT so happy to hear from you again as well. God bless you for being a teacher but double that blessing that you are a special Ed teacher. I needed to hear some good news and I am happy that you gave me some today. Whew!! I was holding my breath praying that everything would go well with you and I am so excited for you. In January I was put on progesterone supplements and very scared. I can tell you that they helped save the pregnancy. It is now May and I am entering my third trimester.We all should feel very fortunate that our OB's can detect low progesterone levels early and do something about it. I will pray for all of you in your early months of pregnancy.

If anyone is taking the pill form of prometrium... the FDA deems it a pregnancy category B. (No proven problems attributed to the drug, take if benefit outweighs rist) Although they do not do studies in pregnant women, drs are required to keep track of people who take it, especially if there was a problem. The PI (every word is reviewed by the FDA) states that one woman had a child w/ a cleft pallet, but it could not be attributed to the drug. There are no more malformations of children when mothers take this drug, then with mothers who don't. I work for a large drug company, and understand these items are very stringently watched over. Hope this helps. I'm scared too.

I am 7 weeks pregnant, and my progesterone level dropped from 19 to 12.8 within a week, What is happening?I am not spotting, or crampy. I have had two miscarriages 4 years ago

carolyn, so to rest assure is what you are saying? I am getting so nervous hearing some websites and people say there are risks in taking prometrium (orally) while pg. my doc put me on 400 mg at night and I have been taking them for like 3 weeks, I am now 6w2d pg, my first was lost with a m/c in march. I am scared that I am hurting the baby by taking these pills but from what you are saying is that it is ok?! thanks

i found out i was pregnant on thursday, after my "period" turned out to be spotting. long story short, hcg is 170 and progesterone is 6.9. spotting is almost gone, some brown on toilet paper, but nothing else. had sonogram tonight and they didn't see anything. they are doing my levels again tomorrow night. i am 5 weeks, 0 days pregnant today. they said they are going to wait until they see something in the uterus before doing anything else just to make sure it's not ectopic. i just feel very crazy and mad. my best friend has had 2 m/c and has been very supportive. i have a 21 month old and never had anything like this. sorry this is so long, i just needed to get this off my chest. =(

Hi Rosa. I had my u/s done yesterday. Everything is just fine. Now some of my nerves can calm down for a little bit. We got some nice pictures of our little one.

Hello Again everyone! Its been a while since I have had the chance to update my situation. I am now 22 weeks and things are going very well! I had a scare last Sunday that I thought I was having braxton hicks contractions so I went to the hospital and found out that it was just real bad ligament stretching. Its hard to know the difference when its your first pregnancy and you've had to come so far as it is to keep your little one alive. I am also very excited because my parents just put in an offer on a house in my home town, so they will get to be here for the baby, and us for them. Its so funny to feel the baby move around, hick-up and jump at loud noises. It really doesn't like any poking at it, everytime the ultrasound is due or the fetal monitor was put on, it kicked away at them! Dieing to know if its a boy or girl. They said at 21 weeks they couldn't tell so I'm hoping next time they will be able to. I hope everyone is well and doing good. Take care.

what should your progestorone be on the 21st day of your cycle. if day 1 is the first day you start to bleed. i am trying to get pregnant and have had blood tests taken on this day?
