I went to the dr on 12/7 and my HCg was only 9. I went again on 12/8 and my levels only went up to 9.5. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN??? I'm on metformin 1500mg, progesterone 8%, and I've had 3 miscarriages already! I'm supposed to go back tomorrow but I don't want to, I feel more stressed knowing what my levels are.

Hi, I am also pregnant and I would like to give you a little hope!! When I found out that I was pregnant my hcg level was only 23 and two days later it was 24. My doctors were talking miscarriage. I was upset and spotting so all I could do is waited to miscarry. A week later I still had not miscarried so the doctors did more blood work and found that my numbers had gone up. So, by this time they were telling me etopic pregnancy and wanted me to repeat the test in a couple of days. Well, I took the test and my numbers doubled. My doctors tell me this is the weirdest thing they have seen. I went in last week and they did an ultrasound and found the baby in the uterus. So, try hard not to stress!! I know it's easier said then done, but stay positive and I will pray for you!!

I wanted to share my story and yours seems like it would be a good one to chime in on. Similar to the woman below, TII, I was told my numbers were not good. This is my first pregnancy since having an ectopic this past summer and a tube removed. I have been seeking fertility help as I was petrified of a repeat performance. Well I was very happy to see a +hpt at 11 dpo. I went to the DR and they told me that day my HCG was 39. Due to a Holiday weekend I decided to come back only two days later. That was when I took my 2nd HCG test which showed me at 51. The Doctor told me this was most likely another ectopic and or a miscarriage. I had the worst holiday weekend ever. I made myself so crazy that even though my next HCG levels showed a more than doubling pattern I checked myself into the hospital at some point for fear that I was having another ectopic. They could not at that point prove to disprove my suspicions. Now to the point of the story....my Doctor told me my chances of having a healthy baby after that second read were only 1%. Well I'm happy to say that I'm that 1%, so far. Today I heard my babies HB and I'm 6 weeks 3 days. I vowed to myself that I would share my story as the ones online can be very discouraging. Sometimes mother nature has a funny way of working and we need to have faith that things will work out. I hope it does for all of you.

I found out last Friday that I was pregnant so I scheduled my OB appt for this Friday. Well yesterday I went to the bathroom and started bleeding a light pink color. I called the dr and got in right away. When they did the urine test first it came back neg and then within a few mins it showed up positive. When the dr checked me she said that she was not happy with the amount of blood she was seeing. They did bloodwork and I have to go back tomorrow morning to do another series. Hopefully by Thrusday afternoon I will get my results. I was really looking forward to this pregnancy and I am trying to remain hopeful. It is very hard to do but at this point it is all we can do. Don't give up hope I haven't! I know the levels will increase and everything will work out.

Hello. 6 months ago i miscarried triplets. i just found out that I am pregnant again. I had a positive pregnancy test; however, when I received my hcg results from the doctors office, they were extremely low (13). The ultrasound revealed a sac, and that was it. I am approximately 3 weeks. I am going to get my blood tested again in two days to see if the levels have doubled. the doc says that if they haven't, i am going to miscarry. can anyone give me any insight?

Jin - December 17th, 2008 6:36 PM

Lucy, all's I can say is expect the worst put PLEASE hope for the best! I will say a prayer for you. Usually if they don't double its not a good pregnancy. I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage with triplets, it hurts my heart to hear that someone else feels the pain that I also feel. Please let me know how you make out at the doctors. How do you feel? cramping or anything? best of luck!!!!!

So good to find this forum. It's great that there are ways to give and get support when all of us are going through similar stuff. I had my first hcg level on 12/15 and it was 21, today (2 days later) it was 27. Low and not doubling. I'm 42 and at very high risk for chromosomal problems because of age so I'm assuming it's a pregnancy that didn't progress because of chromosomal issues. I am hoping that I'm lucky, that it just started out slow but it certainly doesn't seem optimistic. Thank you to the ladies with the optimistic stories as it's nice to feel that anything is possible even though I feel afraid to be hopeful. I'm wishing good luck to us all. Thanks Jin for your suggestion to expect the worst but hope for the best - that sort of says it all.

Hi every1... Here's my story...
LMP 3rd Nov 08, sexually active 16th Nov, bloodwork taken 4th Dec & confirmed POS pregnancy on 7th Dec. Some light spotting twice, and a bit of period-like pain (unsure now of exact dates) but Dr ordered an U/S, booked for 12th Dec to make sure everything was progressing as expected. Had a bit of back pain on 10th Dec (pm), and also spotted once, and had one contraction like tightening (not too painful tho). Woke at 3am 11th Dec and realised i was bleeding, no clots or pain, lite pink in color. Went to maternity ward at 8:30am (bleeding hadnt stopped, but it hadnt got any stronger, but i'd lost a cpl of small clots). Dr got me to have U/S that arvo, but because i was only 5.2 wks, nothing showed up. Had resigned myself to the fact i had miscarried (the lite bleeding lasted 4-5 days, much lighter than my usual period, and for a shorter time also, and a few more small clots - matchhead size). I did a hpt on the 22nd Dec which showed very faint POS (as i'd expected due to decreased hcg level). Dr ordered more bloods to be done to confirm miscarriage. Had bloodtest on 5th Jan 09 and results came back with hcg level of 240 (very low for 7-9 wk gestation, but very high for miscarriage 4 wks prior). On the 7th Jan i did anotha hpt - result was a bold, solid POS line which appeared within 30 seconds! Today 9th Jan i had an ultrasound to see if maybe i'd had twins and one died, or if there was membranes left ova from suspected miscarriage. I ended up havin both a normal and internal scan, both of which showed a completely empty uterus/tubes...
Am patiently waiting for the Dr to give me a referal for more bloodwork to see if hcg levels have decreased or increased ova the last 4 days -hopefully that mite give some indication (one way or anotha) of wot is goin on.
Am interested to kno if anyone else has had similar experiences (considering it's Friday here i'd love the feedback - good or bad)

honey I've never heard of anything like that before. I hope everything works out for you!
