[Original Post]

I am 8 weeks pregnant today from an IUI. My previous two pregnancies have resulted in miscarriages. I went for an ultrasound yesterday and the fetus measured right on at 7 weeks 6 days with a heart rate of 150. But the sac only measured 6 weeks 3 days. The Dr. said it could go either way. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks for any help.

I actually experience it last year. My sac was measuring small and a week later I went and did another US and all was well.

Hi Lucy- Can you send an update about what happened? I have low hormones but they are slowly rising and the fetus is growing and has a normal heart rate. The sac is small due to low amniotic fluid, which my doc said "is not good" but they are having me stay on supplemental progesterone just to see what happens. They say it could turn out to be fine. I have also had two previous m/cs :( Best of luck to you.

Franciepants- I hope everything works out for you. How for along are you? I am taking Prometrium. I have a Drs. appointment on Friday 9/21 so I should have an update then.

I am at almost 8 weeks now. My next appointment is Tuesday for an ultrasound but I don't meet with the OB until Wed so not sure if the ultrasound tech will tell me anything. I still feel a little preggers but my symptoms are really minimal.

I hope everything works out for you. Please keep me posted. I will be thinking about you.

I went for my ultrasound today and the heartbeat stopped. I would have been 9 weeks tomorrow. I didn't have many symptoms and a few weeks ago they practically all went away.

Oh lucy, I am so sorry. Even when you have been advised that it's no tlooking good, it's still such tough news to swallow. Unfortunately, I anticipate the same news. I think my OB thinks I'm a little crazy because I have been trying to make a D&C appointment for two weeks now but they won't do it until the heart stops. It just seems inevitable and the waiting is so so hard when you have been told that there is practically nothing going right in the pregnancy. I am sorry about your loss. It's just not fair. Sounds like we might be on similar "schedules" and we are sharing similar drugs and prodedures...I also got pregnant from IUI...I would also be interested to know why they think you are repeatedly miscarrying. I started a thread under pregnancy loss about tests because I just have a strong inkling that I will be there soon. Basic testing cameback normal so not sure what's going on...Take care of yourself. Francie.
