I am 18 weeks pregnant with my second baby (:girl:). I had complications with my first pregnancy and my sone was born at 32 weeks after bleeding episodes and stopped labor earlier. At week 26 I was 80% effaced and 4 cm dilated by week 31. I just had my ultrasound and when the technician checked the cervical length it was 3 cm. I don't go to see my doctor for another 3 weeks. I found some information online and it says 2.5 cm is when they will really get concerned. But I also found that a normal cervix would be 4.2 to 5.4 cm at 18 weeks. I shouldn't be down to 3 cm until 32 weeks.
Do I need to worry? I know it is good that I am not 2.5 cm, but I can't help but worry after my last pregnancy.

Hi: you should call your Dr.s office and talk to the nurse or something. Having the information that you got from the u/s they can decide if it's worth seeing you before your next scheduled appointment. Good luck!

first of all Congratulations on the second baby and a girl! I am just curious how your relationship with your dr is. if you feel you have a great doctor and trust in him, he will take care of you and that baby and make sure everything turns out fine! good luck to you
