Has anyone had this before and what was your outcome?I am 12w 6d and my Dr just found this on the u/s.I am petrified because I have had 2 m/c's already. She didn't give me much info on it so I am really scared.Any info or personal stories would help.Thanks.

I was diagnosed with this at 11 weeks, but only after very heavy bleeding (blood was gushing when I stood up). The baby's heartbeat was found and everything was fine, except for light spotting for a week . I was on bedrest for two weeks which I felt was really crucial in the healing process. Both the OB and Perinatologist told me not to worry. The Perinatoloigist said that it was so small, he felt that it would eventually go away. They usually do in 90% of cases. The farther along you are in the pregnancy, the less I would worry about miscarriage. I am now 15 weeks 3 days and my baby is doing well. Hang in there.....there are several post here about your very situation. They really helped me out when I was going through the same thing.

Thank you Hopen4baby.The only thing is-I was never bleeding(vaginally). The only reason they found it was from an u/s.So is it the same thing?

Like she said most of the time these things go away, but occasionally they don't . A friend of mine had one found at 7 weeks and lightly spotted until the 12th week when she lost the baby. I have also read that the farther along you are the better. What happens is when the egg attaches in the uterus sometimes it will attach to a vessel causing it to burst, which in turn causes it to clot. If the placenta implants on the clot there is a risk it will not sucessfully implant. The good thing for you is that you are 12 weeks now at the end of the 12th week the placenta fully takes over function, so it is probably already implanted and should be fine. Do everything the Dr. says and rest. Good luck to you and the baby.

SaraD, You really probably shouldn't be worried. I think the visible bleeding is the most worrisome part because you think you are miscarrying. Continue to take care of yourself. It probably will have dissolved by your next ultrasound. Keep us updated!
