That gives me a little more hope. I found out a year ago that I had thyroid cancer. My ENT doc went in, removed my thyroid, and then sent me for a radiation treatment. Recently, I was deemed cancer free and my doc's (knowing that I want another baby) said that I can have another baby but it needs to be born before my next full body scan (01/2010). They also said that it could be difficult for me to get pregnant, let alone carry the baby but they didnt say why. I have consulted my OBGYN, she has never delt with a case like mine so she has now referred me to a high risk specialist. This is frustrating because I live in Italy and the specialist is in Germany. That doc. has scheduled a phone consultation with me for next week but I am just anxious to find some bite of information before then.
I really want another baby so I have decided to push back next years scan until I have a baby. (As long as my blood test keep coming back OK)
I am glad to hear that not having a thyroid shouldnt keep me from getting pregnant. I just hope that there isnt another reason why the doc's are worried about it.
kimberly - was your sister's pregnancy considered a high risk or was everything normal?
Thanks for responding!
