Hi. I've been reading all of the previous postings and feel a little better but I was told yesterday by my doctor that I'm probably going to miscarry due to my hcg levels not rising enough. I am about 8 wks pregnant and my hcg levels on Thursday were 11,100 and on Saturday when I retested they only went up to 11,900. I had very minor brownish spotting on Wednesday and Thursday and then red bleeding during intercourse Saturday morning. I don't have any real cramping and haven't bled since that one time. I was very upset yesterday at what my doctor told us and am wondering if I have any reason to be optimistic...

I hope everything works out for you. I'm in the same boat. I had light spotting Friday morning (3/3) and some severe cramps, so I went in to see the doctor. They did a blood test and scheduled an ultrasound for tomorrow. I'm scared because I called and got the results of my blood test. I'm 10 wks. on tuesday, and my levels are only at 13,884. That's not even half what they're supposed to be. Just crossing my fingers until my u/s tomorrow.

Felixsgirl, how did your ultrasound turn out? I had one on Monday and they couldn't find the baby, just the sac. They said either the baby's not developing like it should be, or I'm not as far along as the y thought I was. I have another ultrasound scheduled for next week.

TrishA they probably should have told you to abstain from intercourse until you know for sure that everything is alright with the bub. I'd be taking it really easy until you get confirmation that all is okay.

I wasn't as far along as they originally thought, either. They pushed my due date back three weeks, and said that my levels are fine for where I'm at. Good luck TrishA!
