In MOST instances a small amount of browish discharge is not a problem. Have you called your doctor since this last incident? Sometimes also with constipation, the force of trying to go will cause the discharge. I would speak to the doctor & see if they can do another scan just to double check and put your mind at ease. Hi there Just letting you know my daughter has had brownish discharge on and off for 6 weeks. She is also very constipated. With each bowel movement she looses clots. She has scans every week as had 4 previous miscarriages. She is now 8 weeks and 4 days further along than she has been. She was told this was not normal but until the 12 week mark spotting, clotting and brownish discharge can happen. He suggests 1 pad soaked per hour bright red is cause for alarm. Hope this helps. I also had brown discharge at 8-9 weeks. Had the ultrasound and everything was good. My 12 week appointment was also all good. I was told that the brown discharge was "old blood" likely caused by having sex the day before.

I'm currently 14 weeks and am getting brown discharge again for the last 3 days. Again, this started about a day and a half after sex. It's very light and only appears when I wipe, and even then not every time. I'm slightly worried about this one because I was under the impression that this shouldn't happen in the second trimester. While I'm also assuming that this is the same thing that happened a few weeks ago. Anyone else experience this in the second trimeser?
