Hi My LMP was 4/2/09 Making me 6 weeks 4 days. I had alot of cramping the first couple of weeks and still dont really feel right. One time after sex had bright red bleeding. Went for an early exam and was told I was ovulating?????? went for hcg levels they were 43,000 (seemed high to me)
then again 2 days later 53,000. they did not double so today I call the doctor again and ask her about the ovulating....as it had me worried to death. She totally denied saying that then told me she didnt know i was pregnant at the time(mind you i took a urine test with the nurse right before going in to see her which was positive). Is she crazy or what? Now Im going for an u/s tomorrow. She said after the u/s she will talk to me. Im so confused. I had her through my entire last pregnancy (my daughter is 8) and she was great. she said she was concerned about my levels not doubling and we would have to do them again. This is so frustrating. Any insight would be great. Thanks

Hi Jennemi I'm sorry to hear that your going threw a hard time. First, I don't know why the heck she would say your ovulating if your already pregnant as it is very rare to do so. If anything I would think you irritated your cervix with the sex, which is normal as the cervix has more blood in the area and if irritated you bleed. How far along where you when you had your HCG levels checked. They do seem kind of high and it didn't double in 2 days which is a concern but there can be many reasons why. Such as you were going to have twins but one has not made it (I actually have heard of this happening on here) and also the pregnancy might not be viable. I just wish you the best and hope it all works out for you, pls let us know how the u/s goes!

Thanks for the response. I had my levels done on 5/13 and 5/15. I will let you know how the u/s turned out! Take care!

jenni- Wow, your doc seems a little out there. I hope your scan goes well and if you are still not comfortable with your doc, I would look into changing.

I know when I had my hcg levels drawn, I went two days apart but NOT 48 hours apart. First I went in the evening and the second was 2 days later in the morning which didn't completely double. My OB knew that and my levels were fine, could that be your case as well? I hope all is well with your pregnancy.

I also saw your other thread and I don't know where you are from but usually you don't need a prescription for pre-natal vitamins. happy pregnancy :)
