My Fetoprotein Test Came Back Positive

I just found out my test came back positive that my baby could have down syndrom. I have 3 other kids and they are fine. Has anyone had the test come back positive but it was wrong? I have to get a amniotest done now.

Keep in mind that there is a high false positive rate with the AFP screening. Meaning that the screening doesn't tell you for sure that your baby will have down syndrome and it has been known to be incorrect. An answer to your question --- there are women who have had the AFP screening come back positive and there babies did not have DS...there is a girl at church that recently received a positive result and with further testing found out that her baby did not have DS. Keep us posted on your situation and I'll keep you in my prayers.
