I Just found out I have pre-eclampsia, After spending 3 days in the hospital. I was handed a print out on it at discharge. Everything I've read on the subject say's it shows up after 20 weeks. My B/P was 193/98 on arrival with protine in urian. My potassiom was critacly low..I was put on a regular floor because I'm only 11 weeks pregnant! What do I have to look forward to? If you have had this please give me some feed back!! I'm LOST!! MY ultrasound showed a healthy baby befor the hospital stay. I am also a diabetic, and have graves diease and 35 years old with a history of 13 miscarriages.. Thanks in advance....

I have had preeclampsia with both of my pregnancies but it showed up at 35 and 33 weeks. I believe there are meds that are safe to take during pregnancy but you will be put on bedrest and told to lay on your left side which reduces your blood pressure. Have you spoken to your OB yet? I would call asap and find out what they recommend (ER's appear to be clueless with pregnancy issues). I am so sorry to hear of your losses, do you have any children? Also watch out for other warning signs like vision changes and upper abdominal pain. Pick up a home blood pressure monitor at a pharmacy- they run about 25-60 bucks. Good luck.
