I am a neonatal ICU nurse and have seen babies born while mom is sick with something like that. It is a bad situation sometimes because you can pass the infection on to the fetus. If doctor knows you are pregnant, and he should at 30 weeks even if you did not tell, then he should give an antibiotic that will not harm the fetus. Also, running temperatures while pregnant is not good for the fetus. Just last year I attended a C-section and the baby ended up okay because she took the antibiotics, but she was not okay. The stress of the delivery landed her in the ICU. She came out okay, but it was touch and go. This is only an extreme case so don't let it worry you. You really need to take care of the infection for you and your babie's health. If you are worried about the med, it is in pregnancy category B which means it is relatively safe and there are no human or animal studies that have shown any bad effects on the fetus. Hope this helps.
