my grandmother had it severely. She commited suicide a few months after my mother was born. My mother however, had only mild pp depression. I am pregnant and suffering from terrible depression. The answer is likely yes and no. I wish I could be more help.

I wonder the same thing. My mother had bad PP Depression when I was born. I also have a brother that is Bi-Polar which I have heard makes it more likely that I will have PP Depression. I am a little scared.

Kellie, just to follow up on this, I had my baby in June six weeks ago and so far so good *knock on wood*. I would let your doctor know about your concerns, but don't be too worried.
