How Long Do You Bleed For?

With DD I bled for 5 1/2 months. Dear God I am hoping I don't bleed that long this time. DS is 11 days old and wearing pads is irritating my vagina badly!

You bled for 5 1/2 months?? Did your Dr. say this was normal? Maybe you had a low platelet count when you were pregnant or something cause I don't think that's normal. I bled for about 4 weeks with my first and 2 weeks with my second and 8 weeks with my 3rd because I had low platelet count and that seemed a really long time to me and my Dr. but fortunatly it finally stopped.

I did. They sent me to 3 different places and never figured out why, even Duke Hospital. The did an u/s to make sure no placenta was left, but there wasn't any. Finally they gave me Premarin, a horomone to stop the bleeding.

Wow! That sounds really uncomfortable. Is your bleeding too heavy to wear a lighter pad? Maybe you should get your Dr. to give you Premarin again, only within the next month or so if it doesn't stop or get lighter. Gl to you I know how annoying it can be wearing those pads day and night for so long.
