I don't know if this is a silly question...but here goes....I know that you aren't supposed to have intercourse until 6 weeks after having your baby, but is it safe to have an orgasm with no penetration?

I'm five weeks postpartum. After not having sex for four weeks, I just couldn't take it anymore. My hubby and I have fooled around a few times in the past week and I've had several orgasms without penetration. I had had the same concern that you just posted and wasn't sure if it was ok or not. But I figure as long as I'm not having any complications from my delivery, the bleding has stopped, and there is no penetration involved-why not go for it. So far so good! Have fun girl!

My hubby and I started fooling around about 2 weeks after my c-section (petting and foreplay only; no penetration), and everytime I orgasmed (at the exact moment), I got a really, really bad headache. I asked my doc about it and he said that it probably had something to do with my blood pressure and the epidural. I am now 4 weeks post partum and am happy to report no more headaches. We are now engaging in actual intercourse (against my docs advice), but everything appears to be okay.
