I'm 24 weeks pp, breastfeeding almost exclusively (baby gets cereal at breakfast and supper, but still nurses afterwards, and i pump a full bottle every morning). I am taking Micronor, but am having a really hard time remembering to take it. What are the chances of me getting pregnant while nursing AND taking the pill (bearing in mind, i'm normally missing 2 or 3 pills every month, though i always double up the next day). I havent had a period yet again either.

Is Micronor a mini-pill? If it is they aren't as forgiving as the regular ones and skipping a pill could cause you to ovulate. Breast feeding is not a reliable source of prevention and once you start introuducing foods (even a small amount) your cycle could start at anytime. If you really don't want to get pregnant you should be using either another method of bc that you don't have to remamber to take that is compatable with breastfeeding ( like an iud) or you should be using a condom too.

IUD's are great I begged my hubby to buy it for me at 67 dollars and then I said I would be certain I would not get pregnant and plus I was breastfeeding at the time.
Its great they just insert this tiny thing inside your uterus and u can check on it every so often at doctors appt.and then its good for five years or eight. hope this helps you to consider it, and read on it. my hubbys happy too! :) i cant get pregnant again coz I suffer from depression or post partum. too

Thanks to both of you. Yes, I was on a mini-pill. I ended up taking a test to be sure, NEG thank God! I am getting an IUD tomorrow :o)
