When I was pregnant with my ds my hair thinned out, not too bad but every time I brushed it or ran my fingers through it I always lost a bunch. Now my ds is 13 weeks and I am losing hair more than ever! I am bf, don't know if this has anything to do with it. Did this or is this happening to anyone else? Is there anything I can do??? Thanks in advance.

amb5879-I am loosing hair by leaps and bounds. I am almost 4 months pp and this started 3 months pp. This also happened after my last pregnancy. It is normal and has to do with hormones - for many women, during pregnancy their hair goes into a sustained "growth phase"- all of the hair on your head is growing rather than having about half growing and half resting or shedding. When your hormones take a nose dive after pregnancy your hair goes into a resting phase - this usually happens around 10-14 weeks pp so you start shedding more than usual, kinda like making up for all the months where you didn't shed any. Anyway, hope this makes sense, it sucks and there is nothing you can do about it but things do even out and go back to normal in a few months.

Well for me rather than my hair getting thicker while pregnant I was shedding it then too. It slowed down for about a month or two and it now right back at it. It's crazy how much I am shedding though. Thanks for your help MNMOM, I am a MN mom as well!!! :-)

it sucks, doesn't it? Mine has gotten really really dry this time also, that is even worse than just having it fall out all over. UGH. Where do you live?

Every morning in the shower I feel like I am going bald for as much hair that comes out, like you said... UGH! We live about 30 miles NW of the cities. How about you?

I have the same problem, I fill the drain and have to clean it out every morning - yuck. I work in Edina but live south of the metro.

Arbor Lakes can get a girl in trouble. :-) I actually used to nanny for a family that lived only a mile away from there, it was bad. I have a son as well, 14 weeks.
