I am very worried and scared and wanted to share my story with you all.
I found out I was pregnant on Aug 16th with a home test. It is my first pregnancy and me and my husband were so excited. I went to the doctor\'s the next week. On my very first visit to the doctor, she did an ultrasound and a blood test. My HCG was good, but when my progesterone level was low, she had me come back the next week to do another ultrasound. At this point, she seemed concerned that she still did not see an embryo in the gestational sac. I just thought all along that I was not as far along as the doctor thought because of my irregular cycles. My average cycle is approx 34 days, making ovulation at approx 17 days (give or take a few). My LMP began 7/12. I believe I am at right at 6 weeks and 1 day maybe. The doctor thinks I am 8 weeks b/c they go by LMP.
So on my last visit on Friday, she did a 3rd ultrasound and still no baby. At this point she gave me an order to go to the hospital for an \"official\" ultrasound. I just went on Tues 9/8. Now I am waiting for the official results from the doctor, but I already know what she will say. I asked the tech at the hospital just if she saw anything in the sac. She said no, no baby still. My doctor had told me that if by Tuesday there was still no baby, it\'s a blighted ovum.
I had thought all along that my doctor was off with the dates, but now we getting far enough along, even by my own count, where we should be seeing something. I will probably have to go back to the doctor again next week, and I would say by then if there is still nothing, then its a b/o.
I am not giving up hope just yet, but I am preparing myself for the worst. Does it sound like b/o most likely or is there still any hope?
