I started to spot brown last night at about 9pm. At about 4am I noticedit heavier dark red and brown mixed (tmi) This morning I feel like my af is coming but the bleeding has tapered down to brown staining..much less. I went to my OB this morning and she rec'd my an ultrasound..I am fearing the worst obviously as I have had 5 losses..3 in the last year. I am 41 and like I mentioned I 8w4d. Can anyone give me a glimmer of hope..I really need it. I will update later today if they tell me the heart is still beating..btw I saw a strong hb at 6w5d 150bpm and everything looked great at that point..they also mentioned I had 3 small fibroids.

Hi,

Its wise to get an ultrasound as I started spotting and noticed everday for a week it got more and more and miscarried at 8 weeks but I had no heartbeat and a small yolk sac. If they are still getting a heartbeat that is good news. I'm 38 and waiting for my period before trying again which is now been almost a month. I will say a prayer for you and my OB told me that a small amount of bleeding is OK but if followed by cramps to keep an eye on it and get in if it gets worse. I hope everything will be O.K. for you.

Oh, Kristin, I pray everything is ok...please update what you find out! I so want this to work out for you. If there are any problems look into those fibroids. I've read fibroids (even small ones) can up the chance of loss. They suck away blood for themselves that is much needed in the uterus, lining, etc. Good luck!!!

Hi Girls, Thank you for your concerns. I did have the ultrasound and it turns out the baby is fine. However I was told I have a sub-chronic hematoma..which is causing hemorraging. I have not had th results intrepreted by my OB and will not until Monday. I thought for sure the baby was lost as I felt like I was having my af..and still do. The tech told me to rest and destress as much as possible. To top it off I am sick as a dog from the flu. Anyway thank you again for your advice..I was in such a bad way this morning and could not sleep the night before not knowing if my baby was ok or not. I did rent a doppler and was trying to find the heartbeat at 4:30 am to no avail..so this added to my stress as well. I am just glad the the baby still looks ok. The fibroids I have are quite small..I did not know they could take away the blood supply from the baby. Thanks Again..wishing you both all the best.

You poor thing Kristin, I am so glad the baby is okay. I have been thinking about you and hoping you would post with updates. They found a fibroid on my uterus also around week 16 on a ultrasound. Doc said not to worry about it and they would watch it after delivery. My last US was at 32 weeks and it had not grown. I am so happy that you got to see the HB, you are nearly at 9 weeks which is great especially if the heartbeat is nice and strong. Just take it easy and rest. Please keep us updated, I know how nervous you are right now so don't suffer in silence........we all know exactly how you feel.

Thank you denise! You are always so sweet. I am starting to feel a little better but I am still spotting.
How are you doing?

deniseb - February 7th, 2009 8:23 AM

Hi Kristin, it can be perfectly normal to spot but I know you must be scared out of your wits. For someone with your history this is the last thing you need. But you seen a good heart beat and being over 8 weeks is pretty good. I truly, truly hope this is your time..you did it once before and it can happen again. Look at me!!! 35 weeks now, I am still anxious LOL Will you go back to the doc next week?
