Hi ladies:
I hope you are all doing well. My question is, have any of you been diagnosed with and incompetent cervix? I have talked with maybe two others on this site who have been diagnosed. I lost my baby last year and would love to hear any other stories from ladies who too have this darn problem. For a future pregnancy I will have a cerclage placed and possible bedrest. Thanks in advance for any responses. -L

Lynne; I personally don't have an incompetant cervix, but my mum had one, which developed after her 5th pregnancy. My mum had a 2nd trimester m/c after her 5th child; at which point they discovered the problem. She then went on to have 3 more babies - my 2 sisters and littlest brother! She had to have a cerclage for each, and also had to deliver her babies at 35 weeks - but otherwise they were perfectly fine. An incompetant cervix is a highly treatable complication, and I am sure that you'll be fine. I can see how it would be very frustrating for you though; but hang in there! juju

Lynne,
My name is Jamie i have an incompetent cervix, i have lost 2 babies in one year. It is a horrible thing to go through i never thought this kind of thing could happen to me. I never even found out that i had an incompetent cervix until it was to late with my second baby. Both of my babies were born alive, i delivered both around 22 weeks each. I have never had to go through something so horrible in my life, so stay strong and remember your not alone.

Lynne, I lost twins in oct of last year due to an incompetent cervex. I made it to 24 weeks and they both lived a short time. I
am pregnant again and due sept 1. I had a cerclage and am almost there! I haven't had full bed rest, but have been on ltd duty, and have been restricted on my activities. I found a great high risk doctor, she has been very helpful! I wish you luck! The second experience has been very different from the first...but it is still hard not to worry!!
