Hi girls:
I just thought I would start a new thread. New AF this month for me so new thread, the other was getting rather long. I hope you are all doing well. We lost our son last year. I have been diagnosed with an incompetent cervix and went into labor at 24 weeks on July 16, 2005. An emergent cerclage was placed and my membranes ruptured on July 19, 2005. My son Luke was born at 25.1 weeks and weighed 1lb 12 and 3/4 oz. He lived until 08/31/05 but died due to complications in the NICU. We are currently ttc. This will be our 2nd month of trying. My af showed her ugly face on the 21st of July right on time. Darn witch. We are hopefully going to use the Sperm Meets Egg Plan next month. For all the ladies from the other thread, hello and if anyone else would like to jump in, you are more than welcome here. -L

Hi Lynne, first to come on board! I am hoping my dh is up for a lot of bd sessions, but who knows, ,i think the only crusical time is a few days before O and the day of O if we can time that right we got a good chance! I have such a headache the last few days, clomid headaches no doubt. Sometimes i wish i didn't have to take them but i don't ovualte that regularly on my own so i guess this is my best shot, one of these times it has to happen I just don't understand how sometimes it takes so long, i mean jeez i am coming up on one year since i lost alexander, and i am still trying to concieve! not to mention i will be 30 next month! well not much else to report will be starting opk's tommorrow so fingers crossed!

babygirl1967 - July 25th, 2006 7:15 PM

Hi lynne hope you dont mind me joining. I am really sorry for your loss it is very heartbreaking to even hear about the pain you have suffered i cant even imagine going through something like that. Are you doing anything in particular to ttc like any pills or monitors? I had a dnc done on april 30th and havent got af so the dr. put me on provera that i am starting today so hopefully i will be ovulating sometime in august, maybe we can ttc together. as soon as i get af i will be using a clearblue easy monitor and i will be taking evening primerose oil, musinex during the day and robitussin at night because it makes me way too drousy so its hard for me to take it during the day also raspberry leaf and pre seed and folic acid and hope for the best. I have a big problem with cm i dont have any egcm so i hope all this stuff works.Baby Dust to all.

Hi LB and babygirl1967:
LB I just passed my sons birthday, he was born on July 19 in 2005 so I am at the year anniversary already. His death date will follow on 08/31. I would love to be preggo by then, but we will take it day by day. Babygirl1967: welcome. Thus far all I am doing is using the opk sticks (first response) during my week of ovulation and this month I am hoping to try the SMEP Plan (sperm meets egg plan). We will see how it goes. I have my annual coming up and if we aren't pregnant by then I will speak to by ob about medications. However, during my week of ovulation I do take the robitussin a few hours prior to bd time. However, I will have to say that July was our first official month of ttc. I haven't been doing the charting and temping but I may start next month if this month isn't successful. I look forward to chatting with all of you and good luck to all of you. And babygirl: I hope the Provera kickstarts your clock. Have a wonderful day ladies!!

babygirl1967 - July 26th, 2006 11:40 AM

Hey lynne july 19 that is my birthday as well. exactly what is sperm meets egg plan ive never heard of that???

LB - July 26th, 2006 7:35 PM

Hi ladies, Babygirl welcome! I am so sorry for your loss as well how far along were you? I use the clearblue fertility monitor too, and at first i didn't think it worked for me cause i never got an egg even though my cycles were normal, than they stopped altogether, my period, and i had to take provera to induce a period. I only got my period 11 days after the last pill, now i am on clomid 100mg and finally able to O, and my monitor finally gives me peak days! so now i just have to get pregnant. I lost my son when i was 6 months along and the cause was never known, it could be true preterm labour, or an incompetant cervix, like lynne thing is they won't know until my next pregnancy where i will be monitored closely. Lynne the smep sounds good, but with our hectic sheduale it won't work for us, so i am hoping to go by O sticks, and bd alot around there. I am just hoping i get pregnant on my own but looking forward to doing an IUI if nothing happens in the next three months. That way i can bypass the cervical mucus altogether and have a better chance considering my cm is not as much now that i am on my 4th cycle of clomid:( I use preseed too but i don't know if that actually helps or is just hype. Well talk to you ladies soon. Today is cd 8 for me, and i am so wanting to O this weekend, i hope...

babygirl1967 - July 26th, 2006 9:15 PM

Hi LB my m/c was only at 6 weeks, i am so sorry to hear about your loss as well like i told lynne thats got to be the hardest thing anyone can experience in her life and i cant even imagine it i dont think i would be even strong enough to handle something like that to me thats way worse than losing mine at 6 weeks. but here we are ttc again and pray this will be it for all of us maybe august will be our month. How long ago did you take the provera? i started last night and this morning i was so sick, felt like vomiting all day and had no appetite at all. I had bought the clearblue easy monitor right after the dnc thinking i was going to get af 6 weeks later so i never had a chance to use it as of yet so hopefully in august i will, my dr. said i should be getting af within 14 days from the last pill which will be july 31.if i dont die by then lol.also my dr. said to call him as soon as af shows up and he will put me on clomid as well. i heard that alot of people had problems with the monitor the first month because they say it gets to know you but it does actualy work at least i hope so we pais enough for it. i have never used the pre seed but i know someone that used it and she didnt even think she was going to get pregnant that month because they didnt bd enough but it actualy worked and thats why i bought it, i already have a big problem with cm so doing clomid i know its going to make it worse. Did you get any side affects from taking clomid? r u still using the monitor?

Lynne - July 27th, 2006 2:55 PM

Hello everyone. Babygirl do you do the Robitussin thing as well for your cervical mucus? I am going to take a few tsp when I get my positive on my opk just to thin it out some more just on the safe side. I agree the SMEP is very time consuming, I might just do the OPK as well and bd around the positive times, but we will see how we feel. Sometimes your just not in the mood for sex. Men don't understand how much preparation it takes for a woman, we have to shave, get pretty, etc., etc. It takes a bit of time to get ready for that event!! LB I hope your headaches are going away, can you take ibuprofen or is there anything that can help since they are related to the Clomid? My birthday is coming up next month, I will be 31 and I am ready to be underway with my pregnancy. We will see what happens though, I hope we are going on vacation next month so maybe I can be occupied with that and not think about the 2WW as much. Have a great day ladies, good luck and positive sticky vibes to you all!!!

babygirl1967 - July 27th, 2006 4:05 PM

what is smep? yes i will be taking robitussin but im going to need more than just one tsp im gonna try musinex in the morning since its 600mg and the robitussin at night because it makes me feel too tired and drousy i will take it through out my whole ovulation window thats about six days but i also ordered the pre seed and will try that as well. By the way i am 39 and i have 2 kids 18 year old girl and a 14 year old boy my dh and i are praying for a healthy little girl but if its a boy its ok too as long as its healthy thats all that matters.

Lynne - July 28th, 2006 1:02 PM

SMEP is the abbreviation for the Sperm Meets Egg Plan. I think it sounds kind of tiring, but a lot of people claim it works. I hope everyone is doing well and I will check in with you guys over the weekend!! Have a good Friday. -L

LB - July 28th, 2006 7:30 PM

Hi ladies, glad to see everyone is doing well. Not much new to report here still waiting to O i am on cd10 right now and not feeling much of anything.Do you ladies feel that your body is always betraying you? i mean you time your bd right, spend a fortune on opk's and still you get a neg after it all, month after month, it is all so depressing sometimes, oh well all in good time i guess. Babygirl, i wasn't sick on the provera but had some nasty headaches, it does take awhile to kick start your period but believe me when i say it will come, and it might be heavy if you hadn't had a period in awhile. I know losing our baby was a true test of our strength and noone knows how strong you will be when something like this happens but somehow we are getting through it, it is not easy but we have no other choice. Losing a baby at 6wks is hard perhaps not as hard as 6 months, but 6 months is still not as hard as term or shortly after, it is still gut wrenching painful and it will always hurt but I believe you are dealt a hand in life and we have to play it because to not is to fold and there is noway i am ready to fold. Although most days i question why i even get out of bed, but i have a strong faith and believe that god does have a plan for me, and i just have to live my life the best way i know how. Well that is my preach for the night!lol good luck ladies, Lynne what cd are you on? still doing the smep? hard work girl, i know i don't have the stamina, or dh for that matter! so we will just be doing the opk's for now, bring on the IUI! that way we don't have to do the "work" and just relax and enjoy each other again. Talk to you soon ladies!

babygirl1967 - July 29th, 2006 12:34 AM

Hello ladies how is everyone doing? lynne i read about the smep its actualy worth a try and doesnt seem anything out of the ordinary so what the heck ill give anything a try. August will actualy be my first month ttc because i havent had af so there was really nothing i could do about that so im hopeing i will o as well i started to bleed today from the provera but i know its not af yet because i still have 3 more pills to go. Maybe all of us can have a bfp next month. LB have you had a hsg done? it took me over a year of trying last time i was prego and yes it is very depressing to see af every month that went by i was in tears when i went to see my dr. and told him i couldnt take it anymore so he gave me a prescription for clomid i was waiting for af to come so i can take it but it didnt, but i dont want to wait another year to go by that will put me over the edge so as soon as i get af im taking clomid as well the weird thing is i do o every month but i never see ewcm and i believe its because of that i wasnt getting pregnant i told the dr that i o but i dont think i release any eggs thats why he gave me clomid and the reason why i got prego the last time was because i was sick and took robitussin and i did have ewcm that month, so im definately going to take it again and i will try the pre seed. Lb i dont understand doesnt the clomid make you o? did your dr say why your not getting prego? are you using your monitor? if so what is it saying now? is it worth having one or should i just use the opks cause the sticks for the monitor ar so expensive. well hope to hear you girls soon.

babygirl1967 - July 29th, 2006 12:38 AM

oh i had a hsg done prior to my m/c and it showed that i have the right tube clogged thats another reason why he put me on clomid.

Lynne - July 31st, 2006 12:03 PM

Hi ladies, I hope you are doing well. I was hoping to start the SMEP plan this past weekend but hubby just flat out isn't cooperating. We are currently working on a house to sell. (My husband bulds) so we are really tight on the budget for this one, and hubby is obsessing about it. So sex unfortunatly isn't top priority with him right now which sucks for me. I am scheduled to ovulate on the 7th of August. So I will probably just buy some more OPKS this month and try when I am ovulating. Once the house sells and we have the money in the bank I think hubby will calm down and get in line. But I am still going to do what I can to get a sperm donation or 3 from him during my peak ovulation for the month. I am so sorry that any of us have to deal with a loss. I feel that no matter what part of the pregnancy you are in whether it be the first stages, or 6 months where the baby has made it to viability or even to full term with a still birth or a sids related death, we all grieve for that child. Not only do we grieve for the baby but we grieve for the dreams we had and share with our husbands or partner for that child. When we know we are pregnant we know our lives will never be the same and should never be the same. When that dream isn't realized then you have to try and go on but you will never be the same. I wish you each peace and joy to come. Keep your chins up ladies, your time will come and we will celebrate for each other. For those who are currently pregnant, I am so happy for you, I wish you nothing but the best.
Okay, theres my happy joy joy for the day. I will check in later!!-L

LB - July 31st, 2006 7:15 PM

Hi ladies, cd13 for me today and no sign of ovulation in sight! grrr so fustrating. what cycle day is everyone else on right now? Babygirl i think that once you start bleeding on the provera it is safe to stop it and just let the menstrual cycle come naturally, all provera does is produce progestrone and which stimulates the lining to build and then once you stop taking the pills it is supposed to make the bleeding start by drops in progestrone levels, however that being said if your lining was already full and thick and you take provera than it will naturally start sooner because the lining has already built up enough reserves. I did have an hsg done, shortly after my loss my doctor had ordered one for me to check uteran abnormalities. The ladies who done the hsg for me told me i was the first one to have it done for preterm labour, because it is usually used for infertility measures. Either way both my tubes are free and wide open, no uterin abnormalities, and otherwise normal.. That is the problem with me lately everything turns up normal and so called"perfect" with good progestrone levels when i O and normal fsh levels, no blood disorders so on and so on, yet the worst possible thing still happened to me loosing my son. To me that is still so much is a shock and struggling now to get pregnant just fustrates me because if everything is in the normal range than statistically speaking i should be pregnant by now, i just don't get it sometimes. Well what's a girl to do except move on, to the next phase in life whether we like it or not. As for the clearblue monitor i do use it and so far i am still getting only "highs" i have a lot of them on clomid because of the high estrogen levels, so i am hoping that i will O this month, i am also using the cheapie internet dip sticks throughout the day just incase i surge in the afternoon! i got backup! My doctor will try three more cycles on clomid than move onto IUI i believe hopefully with a trigger shot. Lynne how are you doing? i hear ya on trying to get dh into bed when we need them! men! they think we will just give it up whenever they want to but when we want to, oh they are too busy, too tired or the latest one dh gives me, it's too hot and you don't even know if you are close to ovulation yet! duh the whole point is to have lots of sex prior to ovulation not after the fact! just wait til we have our babies and have no interest in sex!lol they will be wishing we were trying to concieve again. Well talk to you soon ladies, i hope i O this week!

babygirl1967 - August 1st, 2006 8:22 PM

Lb you got me cracking up how right you are about after we have our babies and how the men are going to wish we are trying to concieve again they have no idea lol.so you are now on cd 14 anything luck? im lucky i guess cause my dh is loving the idea of all this sex even when hes tired or not in the mood he looks at me and says lets go lol.he loves it when i ovulate he says im more sexual at that time. How many days is your cycle? on what cd did you get a peak last month? I finally finished the provera yesturday was my last day the bleeding that i had wasnt af like it was just spotting i guess cause it only happened after bd and then stopped like an hour later if that. so hopefully ill get af real soon, did you o right after your first af after taking the provera? Hey lynne how are you sweetie? i know its so frustrating the whole ttc thing is frustrating, maybe you can try something romantic when you do o or something that he just cant resist and cant say no to. good luck ladies lets see how it all goes.

LB - August 1st, 2006 9:22 PM

hi ladies, cd14 and no surge yet! go figure i always ovulate late. Last month was cd17 before that was cd21. Oh well on with the wating, i am trying to get dh bd sessions in as much as possible. I have a few cramps in my ovaries so who knows soon i hope! babygirl are you trying clomid too? i think next month i am going to get some mucinex, i keep forgetting too because i use preseed, but hey can't hurt. Lynne keep bd incase you O early! talk to you soon
