Stefkay! I totally forgot that you're already pregnant! You must be gettting close huh? How are you feeling?

pba74 - June 24th, 2008 12:03 PM

Jessica - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm so excited for you. YAY!! **Cloud9 - how are you feeling these days? Sounds like great HCG numbers...I'll say an extra prayer that all goes well at the u/s. What week will you be in? I'm sure you might have said it, but I just got back from NY and I'm still jetlagged...LOL. ***STEF, aren't you gearing up to meet the little one? It shouldn't be much longer right? *** Nothing new to report. I went in twice last week to see the RE and he seemed pleased with everything. He did some tests and saw lots of spermies doing there job..just hope one catches the egg. I go back this Friday so he can test the progestrone and LH ...if AF decides to visit - it should be around July 3-4...we'll see. He is keeping such a close eye on everything (my RE that is) so I'm feeling very secure in this process. DH and I were able to bd on cd 10, 12, 14, 16, & 17...I had 2 positive OPK's on cd 15 & 16...so we'll see what happens.

cloud9climber - June 24th, 2008 3:45 PM

pba! Thanks for the prayers - I appreciate it :) I just changed my appointment from July 3rd to July 7th because of the holiday weekend and travel plans that we have. All is well! I'm feeling good but tired and slightly nauseous but really good. My boobs are getting bigger and more dense everyday. Right now I'm 5 weeks and 3 days and at my u/s I will be 7 weeks and 2 days so we should be able to see a strong heart beat that morning. My faith is strong!! It WILL be there this time around! Sounds like your have a super RE who is being proactive! That is so great! I hope one of those spermies gets to your eggie! Hope AF stays away and that you get to test on July 4th and get to have a BFP for your fireworks display! Good luck and keep us posted!

Jessicab3 - June 24th, 2008 4:56 PM

**Cloud9, I bet you are counting the days til July 7th. Are they starting the Lovenox around then? **pba a BFP and fireworks would go great together, lol. **As for me I had my betas drawn yesterday, hcg was 49, prog. 37 at 10dpo so everything is going good. Go in for my next set tomorrow to check for doubling. Sounds like they will start the Lovenox next week assuming my numbers double. I have an appt with my midwife already for next Monday.

Jessicab3 - June 24th, 2008 4:57 PM

Stefkay, when is your due date? I'm sure you are getting very close...

stefkay - June 24th, 2008 7:00 PM

Hi girls! Yep, my due date is next Friday!!! I can't believe it. So I could go anytime. I see my dr. this Friday for an evaluation for induction. She may induce me so that I can stop my Lovenox the day before induction -- that lessens my risks if I get an epidural, etc. Soooo, it could be as early as early next week or something. I'm so up in the air right now that I'm just dying for it to be Friday so I can see if I've made more progress. I just want to meet this little baby soon :) She's running out of room so her movements get less and for someone like me that sends me into a panic, lol. PBA, good luck on this cycle!!!! It does sound like you have an excellent RE! Seriously you guys here seem to have some great doctors that are on top of things. I can't tell you how many times I've read stories here over and over and over of women whose doctors just don't get it. It is very frustrating that anyone should have to suffer so long with multiple losses. It's just so refreshing to log on to a whole thread where everyone is getting top notch care it seems :) I'll let you guys know when anything new happens here...

cloud9climber - June 25th, 2008 2:04 PM

Hey Jessica! Congrats on the betas! ****doubling dust**** !!! Your progesterone is nice and high - that's great! I don't know if my RE will put me on lovenox or not. Guess I'll find out on the 7th when I go for my first u/s. I see you're using a midwife so will you do a med free delivery? How were your births with your other babies? Did you use a midwife then as well. Ideally, I'd like to do a med free delivery with my OB at the hospital. We'll see. Please keep us updated with your betas!!!

cloud9climber - June 25th, 2008 2:08 PM

Stefkay!!! You're almost there! How exciting!!! Don't worry about lack of movement - she's just resting up to meet you!! A little girl! Wow, what a blessing. I can't wait to hear your birth story. Just amazing! Yes, we are so very lucky to have doctors and specialists that are smart, proactive and that just get it ya know? I feel lucky to live in Los Angeles where there are lots of choices and docs to choose from. Good luck on Friday and keep us posted Mama!! :)

angit - June 26th, 2008 10:52 PM

Hi ladies i'm new here and i would like to share my story with others that have gone through what i went through. june of 2004 I had a miscarriage at 14 weeks. I had a D/C and few weeks later i developed a pulmonary embolism, which was almost misdiagnosed because i was only 23 years old at the time. My Dr. tested me for Factor V liden which i didn't have. Then I got pregnant again few years later. At 6 weeks i had an ultrasound done due to some bleeding of old blood which my Dr. told me was normal but me being a nurse i pushed for an ultrasound which the baby was fine. I also had my progesterone levels taken and those were low so he put me on progesterone vaginal suppositories for 6 weeks. I still continued to have bleeding and had ultrasounds often and one ultrasound looked like i had placental previa which was not uncommon in the 1st trimester. At 12 weeks i thought i had miscarried the baby when i went to bathroom lots of blood. I had a fetal heart monitor which i had rented over the internet and i could hear a heartbeat so i went to the ER ( i live in a small town) and Dr. put me on bedrest for a week. Continued to have spotting i had my 5th ultrasound at 20 weeks it showed several bloodclots around my placenta but baby looked ok. Sent my to Creighton University in NE to a perinatologist and he did a lot of genetic and blood tests. But told us our baby was ok for now. I also had been taking a baby aspirin through out my pregnancy because me Dr. said it can help prevent M/Cs. About a week later the office calls and tells me i have MTHFR and i need to start on DIatx- zn and lovenox 40mg daily. I started right away and i went back to my family Dr. and referred me to an OBGYN because he had never heard of this and he would have to ship my to bigger hosp If i were to throw another clot. but the OBGYN was an hour away. She had a clinic where i lived once a month. After 21 weeks i had no further complications. At 36 weeks i switched to heparin 3 times a day. Oh i also had gestational diabetes. I was induced at 38 weeks by OBGYN stressed that everything needed to be planned no surprises if we could help it. We had a happy healthy baby boy. After delivery i was started on coumadin and wore TED hose for 6 weeks after delivery but if i was active i didn't have to wear them. Then about 9 months later we found out we were pregnant again. I was upset because i wasn't ready to got through those painful injections again. But it was worth it. I had no complications with my 2nd successful pregnancy. I started lovenox at 13 weeks and also diatx- zn. we had a beautiful chubby baby girl by cesearean. I look at my children especially me son and think how lucky we are to have them and that i was diagnosed early enough to help my son when i was pregnant with him. My father was tested and he has it also. I do take a baby aspirin everyday and so does my dad. We have the worst form in that it affects are cardiovascular system. I never really researched much about MTHFR i just listened to what my OBGYN told me. about a month ago i decided to research it and find out as much as i can. All of your posts and stories were very informational and i'm glad i fould this site. thanks for taking the time to read my story.

cloud9climber - June 27th, 2008 12:12 AM

Wow Angit - what a story! Luckily your doctors figured everything out. What a scary time it must have been for you and your Husband. I'm so sorry for your loss but relieved that you have 2 beautiful children! I also believe that I inherited MTHFR from my Father because my Mom had 2 pregnancies with no complications. Thanks for telling the details about your meds and when you started them. I'm going in on July 3rd now (instead of July 7th) for my first u/s and I will be discussing lovenox with my RE. I'll also be seeing my rheumatologist for a check up in a couple months if not sooner. Have your children been tested?? Glad to have you here on this board! Welcome!

Jessicab3 - June 27th, 2008 12:52 PM

Angit, OMG I live in NE too! I'm seeing the peri's at the Olson center through UNMC in Omaha. They are amazing there! I live in Lincoln so I see a midwife here and the peri in Omaha solely for my thrombophilia. Are you planning on conceiving again?

Jessicab3 - June 27th, 2008 12:57 PM

Cloud9, I absolutely love my midwife. Most OBs only see you for like 5 min. at appts whereas a midwife schedules a full 15-30min. for each appt. After giving birth 3 times I know I can't handle it drug free but I also don't want all the interference of an OB. My first 2 were delivered by an OB and I felt so rushed. He only checked in on my by phone through the nurse to up my pitosin and such and was just there to catch the baby. My midwife will be there for my whole delivery and 2 hours after. So I will not have to hand overy my newborn to the nurse at all, my midwife takes care of that too. I could go on and on, just let me know if you have any specific questions, lol.

Jessicab3 - June 27th, 2008 1:00 PM

OH and my hcg went from 49 to 169 in 48 hours, woohoo!!! Now my peri wants to see a heartbeat on an u/s before starting my Lovenox. I have an appt with my midwife next Monday so will get it scheduled then. Oh to show you how much my midwife cares, she was on vacation this week but after hearing about my BFP on Monday she actually called me Monday night to check on me and give me a congrats. What OB would do that?

cloud9climber - June 27th, 2008 5:59 PM

Jessica! That's so great about your betas! Woo hoo! It's funny, I lived in Omaha for 5 years when I was a very little girl (ages 1-6). All I remember is that it was cold! I've lived in Los Angeles for 14 years now. Anyhoo, thanks for the advice on the midwife. I really, really like my OB. Not sure I want to do this without her. She has this great Irish accent and she really, really cares. I love her! And all the nurses at the practice. I wonder if my RE will start me on the lovenox or not. My appointment is next Thursday, July 3rd so we'll see. Let me know what happens with your meds. I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!

tutu2008 - June 30th, 2008 5:13 PM

hello everybody. i was really happy to come across a recent thread. i'd like to share my story and hopefully keep in touch with all of you...

i'm 24 years old and on april 27th, 2008, at 25 weeks pregnant, i gave still birth to my baby girl that i like to call 'tutu'. prior to that week, i stopped feeling kicks and movement from her. i was going in to the doc and my ob checked heart beats, which were good..no movement , but everything else looked good. i went everyday that week until they told me no more heartbeats. i was induced and was in labor for 29 hours.

i did blood tests, the chromosomes one isn't in yet, but i did a blood clotting one that came back positive for MTHFR. i had the blood test redone so that docs can be sure and the MTHFR came back negative this time. doc consulted with others and they recommended 4 mg of folic acid a day for me, and i MIGHT take lovenox when pregnant.

today i'm ovulating and i think i might get pregnant from yesterday. i'm excited and scared at the same time. i want things to work out so badly. as others of you had said, i can't deal with going through what i went through a second time.

here's to lovely successes for all of us. may our angels above keep smiling down at us and shower us with goodness.

cloud9climber - July 1st, 2008 2:42 AM

Tutu, glad you found us! I'm so very sorry for your loss. What a painful experience that must have been for you. I think if you read through all our past posts you'll find that most of us are on a daily regimen of baby aspirin and the prescribed folic acid like Folgard. Some are doing the blood thinners like lovenox or heperin once pregnant (so far I'm not but I meet with my doctor this Thursday for my first u/s). The good news is - you've found out that you have MTHFR and it's easily treatable. I wish you much luck. You'll have a baby soon. Again, I'm sorry about little tutu.
