Have you ever felt your cervix before?? If you never felt your own cervix before then trying to do it now, my not work. Not that you cant still find it now, but you wont have anything to compare it to. When is your next dr. appt.? You should just ask them to take a look to see whats going on. If your cervix is already dilating now at only 25 weeks or so, then they may have to keep a close eye on you to make sure you dont go into preterm labor. Real early.

coda - May 31st, 2006 12:39 AM

i did years ago when i had a coil fitted had to feel like a nose i just ment how would i know if it was dilated?

Daniella - May 31st, 2006 12:42 AM

Oh... well, make sure that your hands are very clean (even your nails).. and what was a long, hard nose feel... should feel a bit softer and shorter (effaced)... which is normal on first pregnancy to be somewhat effaced early... well, there is a little slit in the nose thing (cervix)... just see if that slit is completely tight closed or if you can fit your finger in it. The day I went to the hospital I could fit 2 fingers in my cervix. But, the angle we feel compared to the doctors is a bit different. They can usually feel more dilation then us. But, if you can feel an opening in the cervix then you are starting to dilate. Dont try to jam the finger in there. LOL.. just lightly feel if its open

coda - May 31st, 2006 12:54 AM

wow that felt different from non pregnancy dead soft and sqwishy i found the nose bit it was soft is the opening bellow the nose? cos i think if it is then it is slightly open i could not get a whole finger in there but it felt plyable. troy is annoying me because he thinxs i am over reacting grrrr men i just want to know whats going on and that the infection is treated hate waiting

Daniella - May 31st, 2006 1:01 AM

soft and squishy is normal for first timers... if you can get the tip of your finger in it (not the whole finger) then you are starting to dilate. Just something to keep an eye on. When is your next appt.?

coda - May 31st, 2006 1:03 AM

BEE - Congrats on the arrival of your new baby girl, Erin :-) How wonderful. We will look forward to hearing more about her and how you are all doing ......
ALLIEB - I got my copy of the book from the library and had to return it last week. I wanted to renew it but someone had it on hold :-( Today I woke up an hour early and my temp was 97.9 I think had I taken it at the right time it would have been closer to the 98.2. So I think that things are looking good so far. I will know soon enough right :-) I am keeping postive and hopeful thoughts flowing right now and I have been feeling like I have to pee allot. Could be that I retained water over the HOT weekend and I am getting rid of it now though. Dawn

Hey Ladies...Just thought I soiuld check in. BEE CONGRATS!!! And, on my dh's Bday too! Wooo hooo! I have been so crazy busy, I threw my dh a surprise party on Sat! He was shocked had no clue! Anyhow, have an appt on the 14th with the specialist again, I guess to discuss things, like a second consult I guess. I had the saline u/s last Friday and they said that my uterus was perfect and that was not the reason I m/c'd. They said everything looked great and my uterus and the lining indicates I could carry a baby to term, that was good news. Going thru allll this testing and I bet they don't find anything...maybe just a crazy coincedence it happened 2 times! Jeez....lady in waiting again. Don't feel any signs of ovulation...but, who knows. But, we have been bding often, just for fun! lol

My hcg results came in and at 7 weeks they were 136000. Doctor says thats good. Coda, take it easy and really watch for signs of labour. My friend went into labour when she was 25 weeks and thank god the baby was a healthy little girl. She had to stay in the hospital for 2 months, but she a beautiful healthy 8 month old and still a bit small for her age, but no problems Its amazing. Congrats Bee on your baby girl!Christi, thats awesome that your uterus is fine, but I know its frustrating when you don't have answers.take care everyone!

Hi! I haven't checked in for a whle because i have been busy, tired and sick. Tara - I am so happy to hear that you have some positive news. Hope everything turns out well. i have been thinking of you. ALlie - all I can say is be careful what you wish for - I was sick all wekend and have been puking/dryheaving nearly every day. Today I was on all fours in the shower dry-heaving and tonight I puked while brushing my tongue (I know - just do the teeth but when I have an awful taste - which these days is nearly always - i need to do the tongue). I wil be 15 weks on friday, so I really feel I have put in my time for monring sicknes and it is time for the "honeymoon period" of my 2nd trimester to begin. Also, I didn't really start feeling sick until 7 to 8 weeks. ANd honestly, it really hit it's peak of awful much later on. Coda - I have had more UTI's than I care to remember, but they are hell and I think I would pucnh anyone who misdidagnosed me on that (pg hormones are makign me very intolerant these days!) as it is the worst pain in the world. Make sure they check everything out. You and little Rougue are entitled to that. Okay, I am off to bed while I am not feelign naseous (I guess that is one good thing about a late night puke). I am having mild pains which is most liekly gas - another lovely side effect. ANd my lower back is a little sore because of the way I was lying on the couch and my stupid herniated disc. Boy am I kvetchy tonight. Dawn - as long a sth temps stay up abve the baseline. My temps after ovulation were : 97.5, 97.5, 97.9, 97.7, 97.8,(skipped three days) 97.7, 98.0, 97.9, 97.8, 98.3, 98.8, 98.4, 98.3,98.1 and then I stopped charting and took an EPT. I think it was triphasic because my temps rose once and then rose again. But remember, they went up and down - but they stayed above the baseline.

Helene - June 1st, 2006 12:28 AM

okay - most importantly - CONGRATS BEE! Four queens!

LeraeAllyn - June 1st, 2006 10:33 AM

HELENE - Thanks for the info on your temps. Since I no longer have the book in my possesion, I am not sure if I clearly remember how you determine the baseline anymore. This is only my second month temping and I am kinda just winging it - although I did copy the chart out of the book so that helps. There was definitely an increase but I thought it needed to be 2/10ths higher then your highest temp before ovulation. It may not always be that since I had a temp as high at 97.9 before and have had that same temp now. Oh well - a week from tomorrow I should know if I am pg or not regardless of my charting :-) Dawn

Hi ladies, I just got back from my ultrasound and baby had a good heartbeat of 145bpm. The only thing Im worried about is baby was measuring 5 days behind (Im 7 weeks 3 days today and baby was 6 weeks 5 days) That kind of scares me. Anyone else measure behind and everything was Ok?

coda - June 1st, 2006 6:20 PM

tara they give u a week out its no problem i messured 5 days out but now she messures fine . god i was sick all last night and my back is killing me . have appt at immigration today and all i want to do is sleep. fingers crossed for u dawn . helen my m/s just turned to heart burn and i never did get mt blooming period maybe ur having a girl too lol

Daniella - June 1st, 2006 6:28 PM

Tara- remember sperm can live up to 8 days in the tube, so I wouldn't worry. In fact, most doctors give or take 2 weeks. Yea, they give you a 2 week window. So 5 days isn't bad at all. Plus, its only estimated measurements anyhow. Email me at Jarhead4me2@aol.com and I will give you my 7.5 week ultrasound pic. You can see where my dr. started and ended the measurements. OR, if you have my preggo journal link, its in the first pic under photos. Anyhow, we knew our exact date of conception. Had it down to about the minutes. LOL... even only had sex one day and the first measurements gave me a due date of May 11th. We knew the real due date was May 9th. So, it was 2 days behind. Then the next ultrasound measurements weeks later gave us a due date of May 8th. So 3 days earlier than the first scan. Anyhow, you can have a scan by 2 different people the same day and have the measurement days off. Once again, its only a guess. As long as the heartbeat is showing good, your HCG is doubling, and the fetal pole is growing, it all looks good! It may just have implanted a few days later than ya thought. No biggie! :) ___Helene- I started my slight morning sickness at about 8 weeks. I believe I threw up only twice. Then when I was in my 3rd trimester is when I got real morning sickness. I mean, I could hardly brush my teeth. The spell of anything (even my hubby, lol) would make me sick. My sense of spell was so hightened in the beginning, but got even worse towards the end of the pregnancy which made my sickness even worse. So, morning sickness can come whenever. It doesn't always have to be in the beginning of a pregnancy and it doesn't always have to happen. There is just no way of knowing and every pregnancy can be different. I just hope yours doesn't get worse as you get further like mine did. ALthought the second trimester was the best for sickness, but the worse for backache.
