Lavender- Ok, we are about the same age also. :) Just wondering, what makes you think you may not be ovulating? Have you had ultrasounds and/or tests?? It coudl just be a simple hormonal problem that can help... My periods were always abnormal and would go 3 months without and never knew when it would come. I also only ovulated a couple times a year. After my 3rd loss, I found out that my body doesn't produce enough progesterone. I guess it did the few times I got pregnant, just enough to get pregnant but not enough to keep the pregnancy. The longest one was 12 weeks, but stopped growing at about 7 weeks. Had a heart flicker to 12 weeks though. After many test and the D&C it was found that I have "luteal phase defect"... so, once I found out I was pregnant again, I would have to go on progesterone supplements right away. Well, I concieved before my first AF after my last loss at 5 weeks post m/c... and went on progesterone supplements right away. The levels still weren't real high, but just enough to keep the baby. Not hes one month old. Unfortunately it took 3 losses to figure it out... but, now I have learned so much about my body, my cycles, etc. I am glad I never took the clomid. Its still in my medicine cabinet. Hubby and I have been married for 4 years and never used protection and just now have a son. My best advice is to ask the doctor about testing after your next AF. They test your hormone levels day 3 post AF, then maybe day 7, and definitely after when you should ovulate to see if ovulation occured. Once the rule out hormone problems, and if your not ovulating and not concieving, then they may give you clomid.. the smallest dose to start. YET, dont just take it until they test other things first. ANYHOW, I am sure it will happen in no time and you'll have a baby in your arms soon. :)

WOW- sorry about the -many- typos. Yikes!

Helene, thanks for the kind words. I can't imagine that there's any possibility for them to have been wrong. I watched while they did the sonogram and I don't think that a sac (or anything else for that matter) is going to magically appear. Daniella - they took blood yesterday. I couldn't get into their office prior to that in spite of having told them my situation with previous ectopics, etc. I'll get my bloodwork done again tomorrow to make sure my levels aren't rising. If they are, it will be classified as another ectopic and I'll get another shot in the ass of methotrexate. My guess is that will be the outcome since I haven't gotten my period and my boobs are still kinda sore. Lavender and Tara - thanks for the hugs and prayers. I could use a lot of those right about now. Dawn, I'm thinking of you!!! Good luck!

allieb - June 6th, 2006 7:51 PM

Helene- I didn't mean to sound snappy in my reponse. Thanks for your concern. :-)

Helene - June 6th, 2006 10:01 PM

Okay -don't knwo where my comment I just typed went. Real brief as I am hitting the sack (last night was a late night and tomorrow is an early morning). Allie - I SOOO did not take your words as being the least bit snappish. So don't apologize. As for mom & dh, yeah, they can be like that. That is why we are all here for each other. It is harder for family becase they are hurting as well and it is harder for them to be 100% comfort and put aside their own pain. That is why this forum is so great. Good night - I am thinking of you and sending thoughts and prayers your way.

Lavender - June 6th, 2006 10:08 PM

Daniella-Thanks for the info about the tests. I just got back from visiting my brand new (and my first) nephew. He was born last night. He is so precious and I love him, it does make me a little anxious to get started on ttc. TARA S--Thanks for the info on clomid. I will say a prayer tonight for you and your little bean.

allieb- you cant see anything on an ultrasound until your HCG is 2000 for the transvaginal... I think its about 3000 for the transabdominal. SO... if you had an early miscarriage and your HCG never got that high, then you wouldn't see anything on the scan. I just dont want you to get that shot if you don't have to, you know! I had an ectopic and lost a tube so I also know how hard it is to have an ectopic... so, I would say do the shot at the first sign of an ectopic somewhere... BUT, I wouldn't recommend the shot until its a pretty darn good indication that it is indeed an ectopic. After you get all this done, can you get your fallopian tubes checked to see if they're flowing good, etc.? Gosh, I sure pray that whatever happens goes OK. Gosh, you sound like such a wonderful lady and I dont wish this upon you or anyone on this site. :( The things us women go thru to have a baby.

LeraeAllyn - June 7th, 2006 9:20 AM

ALLIEB, thanks for your kind words and wishes of good luck for me. I am not sure what to think. I am not really sensing anything big right now to think I might be pg. Temps are still up. Although this morning I had to temp at 3:45am cuz I woke up to pee and would not get 3 more hours of sleep before having to get up for work. The good thing was that even that early my temp was 98.07. HELENE - I do not have that book anymore, did it say your temp raises 1/10th for every additional half hour or hour of sleep you get?? So I guess had I slept until 6am as normal my temp would have been either 98.2 or 98.4 and today is CD31. I am crossing my fingers that is all I know. I am tempted to test but part of me is scared to. If I get a BFN I will be disappointed. I would rather be disappointed getting a/f then wasting another hpt. Only other good thing is last month my temp started to drop two days before a/f and it does not appear to be this time. I should get a/f by Friday if I am not pg. Oh the waiting - I am so sick of it. Dawn

LeraeAllyn - June 7th, 2006 9:24 AM

CODA - Holy cow! So that infection you had was causing your heartrate to go sky high like that? That is kinda scary. I wonder if you are going to end up with pre-eclampsia. Take care of yourself and little Rogue. Glad she was OK. Dawn

MelissaK - June 7th, 2006 3:05 PM

Hi Ladies - I am having a problem over here. We aren't planning to TTC until July/August. However, in May, we BD twice about 2 days before O. I wasn't tracking but by calculating backward, I guess O was around that time so there is risk of pregnancy. Well, I am 5 days late for a full cycle, but for 3 days I have had spotting (I have not once needed to wear a tampon) and I think that must be it for the cycle this month. What is confusing is the last 2 cycles post surgery were totally normal, not super light like this. To top it off I have had a very annoying nausea for over a week and today it is so strong I threw up this morning in the sink. Now for the kicker: I took a hpt 2 days ago and it was BFN. Anyone have a clue or had a problem like this before? Is it maybe a stomach flu because I don't have any other flu like symptons. The nausea is what is killing me - it won't let up. Thanks

Lavender - June 7th, 2006 3:11 PM

MelissaK--Are you having any other symptoms? Maybe you should take another hpt....What kind did you take before? Try one that detects lower levels of hcg (Like First Response) if you haven't already. Or you could visit with your doctor and get a blood test. Is the stomach flu going around?

MelissaK - June 7th, 2006 3:52 PM

Thanks Lavendar - By the way, for those I have not met, greetings. I had 2 mc over the past 10 months and in March had a myoectomy to remove fibroids. I used to hang out at this site as it is a nice bunch of people who post here. Anyway, yes it was First Response. Makes no sense, the super light period, when even post surgery I had 2 totally normal cycles. And then to actually throw up this morning? I feel confused or maybe just sick I guess. I guess I can pick up another hpt today to totally rule out pregnancy but I do believe it would have registered a BFP on Monday. And just for the record, I WANT the BFN as I am giving my body the proper amout of time to heal before TTC.

LeraeAllyn - June 7th, 2006 4:00 PM

MELISSAK - Well, this is very interesting. I am with Lavendar. Go get another HPT. Not a First Response though. I did not care for those and I have read some negative comments about them online. Others that detect a low level of HCG are Answer Early Result 25 mIU, EPT 40 mIU, Equate from Walmart 25 mIU, Clearblue Easy is 25 mIU I think too. Give another one of them a shot. You could be PG and just having light spotting when your period would normally happen. That is known to happen. I know that is not your hope but best to take another test to rule that out. I hope you are doing well otherwise. If you got yourself caught up on the forum you may know that I am on CD31 and a day or two away from taking a HPT myself. Hopefully I am given the opportunity to do so. Not sensing much by way of symptoms right now. My best to you - keep us posted. Dawn

MelissaK - June 7th, 2006 4:46 PM

Ha ha - I did not even bother to try to get caught up on this forum. It is just HUGE these days!! Oooh! cd 31 - that sure looks positive! You must be excited.
